Where can I find the Liquid upgrade to 7.1

Trying to install the 7.2 upgrade but it will not install without installing 7.1 first.  I am at 7.0 now.  Where can I find the 7.1 upgrade file?

    Thank you.

Re: Where can I find the Liquid upgrade to 7.1

You might read the troubleshooting thread, I made a copy and paste

The latest version of Liquid is 7.2 build 4296. You can download the full installer or the upgrade patch  here.  The full installer requires your 7.x serial number but can be installed on a clean install of XP without installing any prior versions. Please read the upgrade information the link takes you to very carefully and make sure you download the correct item (full or patch) for your upgrade situation.

If you have problems installing Liquid because it cannot verify your original Liquid disk, download this patch.

If you have issues because you are upgrading from programs like Adobe Premiere and do not have a Liquid disc to verify with, this has been reported to work using the above patch:

Begin installing the full upgrade. Cancel the install when you are asked for the CD.
    Then run the patch.
Finally run the Setup 7.2 again.

Re: Where can I find the Liquid upgrade to 7.1

Well, I started with version 5.5, went to 6 and then 7 over the years.  I loaded version 7 and then downloaded the latest "Upgrade" patch (7.2 4296) at the site you listed. With version 7.0 installed I started the "upgrade" patch 7.x to 7.2 but it ended before installing saying I must install version 7.1 first.   I think I downloaded the proper "Upgrade" version - but I don't know why it is asking for version 7.1 to be installed first.  I don't know where to download a version 7.0 to 7.1 upgrade file.  Maybe I should try the full upgrade version, you think?  I have the version 7.0 serial number but it is an "upgrade" version from 6 to 7.0.

     Thanks for your help.

Download the 7.2 full patch from the same website. This one should work.
The upgrade patch actually needs a later version then 7.0. I think it is a typo on the website.

Yeah!  Joy!  That was it. Downloaded the full patch and it worked smoothly and perfectly.  It just asked me to insert my program disk and away it went installing the AL7.2 upgrade as it should with no glitches.

Thanks for your assistance.  I appreciate it very much.

    Have a great day.

I really don´t understand what you did, hope you followed the instruction thread, you should only have installed the FULL 7,2 file and nothing else....

    Anyhow, happy editing

Re: Where can I find the Liquid upgrade to 7.1

Yes, happy ending and that is the important part.

But, to let you know what I did and why I did it I will try to explain as others may have the same issue.

I have been upgrading Liquid over the years from version 5.5 to 7.0 using "upgrade" files only - no full installs. I wanted to upgrade to 7.2 so I looked at the upgrade file list and I saw two possible choices as shown below.

    09/14/2007
Avid Liquid 7.x or Avid Liquid Pro 7.x 7.2 Full Patch Drivers - Updates
    09/14/2007
Avid Liquid 7.x or Avid Liquid Pro 7.x upgrade patch Drivers - Updates

I first chose the second one because it said "UPGRADE" patch thinking that the "FULL" patch was only for those that had installed the FULL 7.0 package not one that had been Upgraded from previous versions like mine was. That was my thinking.  Upon running the second "UPGRADE PATCH" it stopped and said I must upgrade from my 7.0 to version 7.1 first before it could upgrade me to 7.2. That was why I was trying to find the 7.1 version. In looking at the two choices above now more closely the second one says 7.x to 7.x upgrade.  A confusing series of x's.  Ha!  Maybe the second choice would be a little more clear if it was listed as a 7.1 to 7.2 upgrade, possibly?  So, since it did not work for me I deleted everything.  Then upon downloading and installing the first choice - it worked perfectly just asking me once for my 7.0 upgrade disk to be inserted and the file installed version 7.2.  Hope this explanation of what happened to me helps.

Re: Where can I find the Liquid upgrade to 7.1

The 7.1 patches (upgrade to 7.1 and SP1 for 7.1) are nowhere to be found--and I looked hard for them.  Having the full 7.2 upgrade is huge.

Re: Where can I find the Liquid upgrade to 7.1

The 7,2 full update is the only one that should be used, saves a lot of update probs for all of us, put it on a disc if you like to.

Re: Where can I find the Liquid upgrade to 7.1

    Tomas,

the problem is in presenting TWO install packages. Of course, after all mistakes WE know that we need the first one in the list.

But we are not EVERYBODY. It would be better if Avid/Pinnacle removes the second one from the list.
