    Video stops playing

I am having an issue viewing my transferred movies on my ipod.  What happens is at some random time during the movie, the movie just stops and goes back to the movie playlist menu.  What this means is that you have to start the movie from the beginning and fast forward past the spot where the movie stopped and continue watching.  Obviously this is very annoying.

From my testing, this only happens when watching on the actual ipod.  It does not happen when watching on itunes or through quicktime.

Has anyone else seen this or have any suggestions?

Any solutions, suggestions or comments out there???  If not, I will probably return the PVT because it is really an annoying "feature"

    Thanks

What were your settings when you captured this video?

I have the same problem as well, when watching video on IPod, the video stops and returns to menu part way thru the video.  I have used "Good" and "Better" settings to capture video.  It is very annoying to have to fast forward to get to the spot...............I often miss dialogue because if I don't FF past the stopping point, it just does the same thing.

Any update on this issue anyone?!

I am looking at buying the Pinnacle Video Transfer, and would use it solely to transfer videos to my iPod.

This issue is a show stopper for me :(

I am having the same issue.  A couple of the transfers played fine, but the others always stopped about 20 or so minutes into the video. I haven't had time to mess around with trying all of the quality options. Hope there is somthing that can fix that problem.

    Re: Video stops playing

I am having the same problems.  I am recording to a flash drive at "better" and importing to itunes.  The file plays fine in itunes or on my xbox but at particular frames in the video the video stops and goes back to the menu screen, but i can fast forward past that spot and it will play... as long as there isn't another "problem frame."

Some video's have worked fine, other's have this problem... so far I'm at about 50/50 with working and not working... not very happy and if I don't find a fix I'm going to have to return my PVT because it just isn't worth it... I hope someone will post a fix!

    Re: Video stops playing

Found this post which references similar ipod problems

    http://www.fixya.com/support/t721520-classic_ipod_video_playback_problem

Also, i noticed in itunes my video's recorded at Better on a memory stick import with dimensions of 864X480 rather than the 640x480 which pinnacle says they should be recorded at, could this be part of the problem?  I guess I'll try a couple things and see if I change the display setting on the ipod it will stop the video from crashing
