    audio compression problem

I have been capturing and burning to dvd home video from an old Sony 8mm video camera using a Pinnacle Moviebox and Studio 11 Ultimate running the Windows Vista Home Premium OS.  I capture to a VIDEO-TS folder using the "create file but do not burn" setting, MPEG 1/2 video compression and Dolby 2.1 audio compression settings.  About 50% of the time the capture will produce a MPEG audio compressed/encoded audio file that will create a disk that will produce no sound when played on any of my dvd players.  If I delete the file and re-capture again (sometimes several attempts) it will eventually create a correctly compressed/encoded AC3/2 Dolby audio file that will allow a burn that plays flawlessly.  I can verify the type of audio file by using another program prior to burning a disk (saves creating a lot of coasters).  I have tried to establish a pattern but I can't seem to find one.  I have tried restarting, reinstalling, disconnecting from  all network activity, disabling antivirus and firewalls,  using MSCONFIG to disable all startup programs and disabling all nonessential services but nothing gives me a consistant capture.  Any thoughts?  Thanks in advance.

You're welcome.Yes  I hope this solves helps correct your problem.  I just happened to be passing through between cleaning out the dog kennel and home chores and saw your post.

Come back and visit.  You don't have to have a problem to stop in.  You can pick up some pretty good info just hanging around, tips and tricks as well as problem solutions.  Like, I have never had that problem with no audio on DVD, just knew others did and was able to pass it on.

With all the attention this bug has been getting over at the engineering department, I'm sure a fix will be released out for this.
