Studio - Make Movie

home video burnt in avchd format to dvd does not play in ps3 .

I have windows 7 new hp desktop with i7 processor.. home video dvd burnt via studio12 in hd AVCHD format does not play on ps3. tried changing brands of dvd no luck. dvd plays on desktop but does not play in ps3.

any suggestion would be helpful.

Studio 14 HD & Double-layer DVDs

I find that Studio 14 HD cannot recognize the presence of a double-layer 8.5gb DVD in an external USB Pioneer or LG DVD DL burner. (I thought the LG was defective; returned it & got the Pioneer). Studio omes back with an insert blank or adequate capacity disk message. Roxio 9 will burn 7+gb of data files to a DL disk on the burner, so it probably isn't a burner issue. I've tried both Verbatim & Memorex DVD+R DL 2.4x DVDs.

I did set Studio for the correct drive and 8.5gb. I have Studio 12 installed on another computer and get the same result .

Any suggestions?

can't output to tape but dvd & avi file works

Hello,

I'm trying to output my 6 minute video to tape. I've already made a dvd (MPG2 to watch on a set top player) and a AVI file, both worked fine but I want one more form of archive and that's my miniDV tape. I've outputted to tape tons of times, but now I get this error message "your project cannot be output to the selected device. Please make sure the project format is appropriate for your output device" I am trying to output via Firewire to my camcorder, which Pinnacle does reconize. I'm using Studio version 10.8. Not sure how much detailed info you guys need but everyother "make movie" works exept tape. Please help.

Studio 14 - Create DVD isn't saving the sound

I bought and installed Studio 14 last night, set up a movie/title and used the sound from the original AVI's - very happy/impressed with the whole process.

When playing sound through the editor it is fine (sound is against the microphone on the storyboard). However when I created a DVD and there was no sound recorded on the DVD. I then created a file (AVI) and that was fine. Went back to create a DVD and again it was no good.

Any ideas where I should look,my next thought was to try a different format to mpeg2 - maybe pcm. Also was going to try looking at the movie files directory to see if sound is in that.

Any thoughts welcomed.

PC is Windows XPsp2, it is a Phenom II x3 with a creative labs Xfi soundcard.

Export Failure (Render Error)

Hi Marc and company!

I just bought myself a new copy of Pinnacle Studio 14 Ultimate Collection. Everything was working superbly until I tried to create a movie to file. I get the following error:

1) Export Failure (Render Error.... 0/1693) - I get an error of this nature when I click on Make Movie. I tried everything posted on these forms. I have deleted all the auxilary files (even deleted the 2 directories under the "Data" folder through Windows). I also copy and pasted my project to a new project but I'm still getting the Export Failure (Render Error at frame 0 of 1693).

PLEASE HELP AS I HAVE 40 SOCCER PLAYING KIDS EAGERLY AWAITING TO SEE THEIR VIDEO.

As well, is there a release date set for a service pack update of Studio 14?

v14 No option for 1280x720p make movie

I have 1280x720p source files, but cannot 'make movie' to blu-ray image nor disc in same format,

it always recodes to 1920x1080

Mixing videos, also works in editor but not in DVD

Can some one with knowledge of video files look at this (I know you lurk around out there)

I have a project that contains (mainly but I dont think the rest influences this) 2 incoming videoformats :

A 4 AVI files captured by Studio from a DV camera

B and Mpeg file extracted by studio from a DVD

the first half of the project consists of scenes from the A files and works as expected

the second half mixes scenes from the A and the B files and works fine in Studio editor but the resulting second half of the DVD does not work ,

it skips the scenes from B or corrupts them in various ways.

I ran the Mpeg files through studio and converted it to AVI files ,using these the project came out fine and plays as expected

1) should not studio be able to mix the files (N.b: that studio has created both files)

2) if not, was my sulotion the most practical one or does someone have a better solution.

Video or audio drops in slide show

Hello,

I made a slide show of some pictures using Studio 12. To keep the best quality for the images, I chose a project resolution of HD 1920 x 1080/60i. Next, I wanted to burn the resulting movie to a DVD. This all works and when I play the DVD on a (stand-alone) DVD player (in a PAL region), most of the movie is OK. However, there are some parts where the audio suddenly drops or where the image is black for a few seconds. This behaviour does not seem to be reproducible, i.e. when I burn the DVD again, the video or audio may be wrong at other positions within the movie. I tried to play the movie on different DVD players, same result.

Does anybody know what could cause this?

I am using Pinn. ver. 12 to make a movie and I got up to the point to make the movie and it only made part of it! It stopped recording it about 8 minutes into a 30 min. movie. Any suggestions?? THanks.

What does "Writing Lead Out..." mean, because Pinnacle 14 always stops and just chugs away and goes now where at that point in Making a Movie. It looks like everything is rendered, but nothing more.

Can anyone offer any help. Have completed project approx 18 mins long with still images only- using menus, new montage themes, motion titles, PIP etc. and have gone to make movie. Have tried a few times but it stops whilst writing frames and message reads: export error:realtime c:\programdata\studio14\render/projectname7f6d0279\dvd\studiosequence\temp\01.m2v. Each time the make movie does not complete then same message comes up but with different number next to project name. I have read into some previous articles and looked up the m2v and thought that this might be the problem and have deleted motion background titles but it is still happening.

Have tried turning off firewall, have tried re-encode whole movie, turned off background rendering, deleted auxillary files, made new render folder but still makemovie stops with the m2v problem. Anyone having similiar problems?

S9 Crashes during make movie (slideshow project)

I'm trying to make a DVD of a slide show for my parents' 50th anniversary. I have about 175 pictures in all. There is no menu in the project yet.

I have mostly basic transitions, with some music (with fades between songs), and more than half of the pictures have the zoom effect applied (pan and zoom).

I'm running XP SP2 on a P4 3Ghz with 3G of memory. I have the last patch for S9 (I think its 9.4.3),

I had enabled background rendering (for preview) during editing. Studio crashed often, but continued the background rendering from the last save point.

When I make disk (to my hard drive, and not a DVD), Studio keeps crashing. I get a windows error, and the following in my event log:

Event ID:1000 Faulting application studio.exe, version 9.4.3.70, faulting module studio.exe, version 9.4.3.70, fault address 0x00139071.

Before I do the make disk, Studio is using about 800MB of memory. After rendering to about the 5 minute mark, memory is at 1,25GB, then it crashes.

After the first crash, I removed the picture that was in the preview window at the time of the crash, and restarted the make disk. This time it crashed about 20 pictures earlier.

Is there some sort of limt as to the number of transitions or effects that can be used in a single project. Or perhaps a limit on the amount of memory that Studio can use?

I even tried with my virus scanner and firewall disabled, and even tried increasing the process priority (for studio.exe).

I really need help...

AAAUUGGGHH!! Need fix for Pinnacle 12 Ultimate export error rendering and burning !!?

Stupid, stupid stupid!!! This is the most user-unfriendly software I've ever seen! I am somewhat able to navigate through software, but this requires the actual tech that wrote the program to help.

Any help for burning that will help me get around constant errors about export error real time, or export error rendering, or export error this or export error that??????? EEERRRRGGGGGG!!!

I've combed through the many possible fixes, and updated fixes and none seem to work. I don't seem to be the only one.

Maybe I'm the stupid, stupid stupid one who is wasting time with it.

Any help would be helpful, thanks.

Can't creat AVI HD

I have Pinnacle Studio HD. I use it to import files from y Cannon HG10 which are *.stx files (I think.) When I goto Make Movie, there are grayed out options on the avi files, so I have to accept the 720/480 option (as well as the rest of the video settings.

What am I doing wrong?

Hi,

I'm thinking of buying Studio 12 plus and am using the Trial version currently to check it does what I need it to. Unfortunately I can't get round the following intermittent problem during Make Movie.

I click Create Disc (DVD, Best Quality) and get the usual prompts about overwritng the disc contents etc. It then asks me to select an image folder for my projet (PROJECT1) and the Rendering Menus then starts. I now receive the following error message:

Export Error: real time c:\documents and settings\all users\application data\studio12\data\render/project1 a54038a\dvd\studiosequence\temp00.m2v

The process then stops. This problem happens 4 times out of 5 and I can't work out what is causing it. On the odd time when the make movie does complete, I can't see that I am doing anything different,

Has anyone else seen this is the Trial version of S12? if so, any ideas what I can do to prevent it? I want to buy S12 but only have 13 days of the trial left to fix this bug first.

How do I know for sure? And what if I add some menus?

I have used a Dazzle Creator Platinum edition to transfer old tapes from a JVC Video Movie GR-AX2 camcorder (via adaptor VHS Tape) to my computer.

Computer Spec = Windows Vista Home Basic SP1, 2GB, Intel Celeron 2GHz

I have imported the files onto my PC and into Pinnacle Studio 12 fine. Via the preview window the film and sound are in synch.

But for some reason when I burn them onto to DVD there is a slight lag between the picture and sound.

Its strange because some scenes seem to be ok but the majority show the film and sound as out of synch.

The sound is slightly slower than the picture.

Any ideas how to resolve this issue?

Unable to post to YouTube

When making movie keep getting error message "Error: Failed to publish your project to the web. This may be an internal issue with the video hosting service provider." I don't believe this is a problem with YouTube. I an using Studio 12, was able to upload 30 days ago to YouTube.

S14 Burn Speeds Do Not Show Up

I've been trying out S14 a bit, and I've come up on something unusual for me. I thought I would ask for some help here.

I think something is amiss in the "make movie" section, and in particular the burn speeds don't display properly. As in previous versions, the words low, med, high should appear when a disc isn't loaded. But upon loading, and recognition by the computer, the words should change to numbers, allowing you to select an exact burning speed. This is not happening in S14, or should i say not happening in the normal way.

If I open the program, add some video, go to to "make movie", and insert a disc, the numbers never appear when I open the "settings" window. Not only that, the computer never opens the explorer window, allowing you to view the disc. The wierd part is that when I close the S14 program, the explorer window immediately opens.

If I insert a disc, wait for the explorer window to appear, open the program, and then proceed as described above, the burn speed numbers always appear.

There have obviously been some changes in this section, the numbers are completely backwards from previous version. The numbers appear as follows:

Not that the order of the numbers really matters, but this just explains to me that this section has been re-written somewhat, and might explain some things if users are having problems in S14.

Could anybody with S14 look for the numbers in the burn settings for me? The following is the quickest recipe, I did it about 15 times already and the behavior have been very predictable.

#1 Open S14, and go directly to the "make movie" section. You do not have to place anything on the timeline. Insert a disc, and allow the program time to recognize the disc. Open the burn settings, are the burn speed numbers appearing?

During this process, keep tabs on the explorer window. I have my autoplay settings configured to "Open Folder with Windows Explorer".

I'll add that I have burned some discs with using the "words" instead of the "numbers", and the discs seemed to play properly. I'm trying to get comfortable burning my discs with Studio instead of Nero. But since the numbers are not appearing, lets just say that I'm still not not comfortable.

Some menu links do not work on DVD, but they do work in Edit

in st 11.1: Anyone with any ideas re the subject problem? on the physical dvd, two of the 15 chapters on the one and only menu do not link to the right spot, but they DO link under edit , in both regualr edit and under the DVD simulator.

Since I cannot repro the problem in edit, I do not know what corrective measures I can take to fix this problem.

67 minute video on "best quality" uses only 2/3 of DVD space, so why am I limited to 67 minutes in S12?

Since moving to S12 from S10, I have now been reduced to 67 minutes of video if I have quality set to "best quality". I'm aware of the other posts that explain that I don't need the additional "quality" that comes with the 8500Kbs rate, but that still does not answer the question of why I'm limited to 67 minutes, when I visually inspect the DVD and see that only 2/3 of it has been used. It looks like 92 minutes would fit on there (like with my older Pinnacle). Is this a hack in S12?

Studio 14 Make Movie crashes

I've made several movies with v14, some fairly complex. I created a 4-minute music video with a lot of short clips, with looks effects applied along with a lot of title overlays and PIP use. It previews fine and I waited until all background rendering had finished before pressing the make movie tab.

But as soon as I select the make movie tab, Studio crashes. I've tried other movies and they work fine. I even tried copy and paste to a new project. Same crash.

I then tried hiding all tracks in edit mode and then selecting make movie. No crash. But as soon as un-hide a title or overlay track, it crashes. I've tried removing all effects from these tracks but it still crashes.

Any ideas?
