Studio 10 with windows 7

I AM TRYING TO INSTALL STUDIO 10 WITH WINDOWS 7 AND THE INSTALL SAYS THAT STUDIO 10 IS NOT SUPPORTED BY WINDOWS 7 DO I NEED TO BUY THE NEWEST VERSION OF STUDIO? I HOPE NOT. AM I DOING SOMETHING WRONG ? SORRY FOR THE ALL CAPS, SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH MY KEYPAD TOO.

Installing S14 on XP endless loop?

Anyone seeing this?

With the download version (S14UC) when I click on Install S14, The installer tells me that I need .net framework 3.5 installed. I click to go ahead, it appears that the .net framework installs and I'm returned to the installer again. No reboot is requested.

I click in Install again, and I'm told I need .net framework again.....

I've tried rebooting, to no effect.

This is on XP pro.

Studio 14 Won't Run or Uninstall

I have installed Studio 14 (from CD) on a Windows 7 64 Bit PC. It was all working fine from the initial PC Build (about 2 weeks ago) but has now stopped working. When I try and run it I get this message

I then try and uninstall it and I get this message

I have tried the removal tool but that doesn't make any difference, I have also tried copying the install CD onto the drive and running from there - that installs sucessfully but the messages still remain the same. If I install Studio 12 that works (or it used to!!), though at the moment Studio 12 is off the machine. I have tried removing the Pinnacle folders in program files and program data - again all of these make no difference.

When I try the repair option it says the source is not available

How can I get Studio 14 to run?

Recovering Studio 10 plus upgrade without Studio 9 disks

I needed to change my Hard drive due to issues. I've had started with studio 8 and progressed to studio 10 plus. 10 plus was an upgrade from 9, not the full version. I installed a new hard drive and use my old as extra file compacity. My problem I don't have my studio 9 disks to re-install 9 and then 10 plus upgrade on my new hard drive. These both are still on my old hard drive, but I can't launch either. If I try and install 10 there is no where to point where it is at or to show that it is still on my pc, it is looking for 9 to upgrade to 10. I have all my registration numbers to all the products that I have purchased from Pinnacle. Is there a work around to get 10 to launch?

Studio 14 does not show or play video

I upgraded to Windows 7 and then I upgraded to Studio 14. I uninstalled Studio 12 as the Win7 upgrade advisor said so.

I also upgraded my GeForde 8600 drivers.

Now Studio 14 installs, but it does not show anything in the video preview nor does it play video at all.

Selecting a clip does not play nor does moving it to the timeline show anything.

Why is it never just a case of installing and using a Studio product? It is always 2 weeks of forums and helpdesk saying "clean install windows"

Studio 9 and udgrading to Version 12

I'm not a huge user of the programme and have version 9 with varios upgardes. But would like to do better movies.

I recently started quite a large film project with quite large clips captured from a digital cannon camera.

All seemed well and going to plan with getting the frames into the time line etc etc. when I got half way through it, a pop up came along and said ' the programme has run out of Memory' and shut my PC down.

I did a little research and it told me to adjust the virtual memory on my Pc which I did and to no avail. The hard drive also has plenty of memory on it. Is version 9 just not powerful enough to handle the content.

Q: If i upgrade to version 12 will this solve the issue, Is V12 a more pwerful version.

I know V14 has just been released but I'm not sure if it's worth it or not.

Trying to install S12 Ultimate on 64 bit Windows 7

First S12 installer (upgrade from 10) runs okay but then it asks for the earlier installer... Okay, so I tried installing S10 first but it says it's not built for my operating system.

Assuming that S12 ultimate will work with Windows 7, how do I install it without the earlier release?

Say that I have to upgrade to S14, how will I install that if you continue to enforce that idiotic upgrade procedure where every upgrade requires an earlier version already installed on the PC?

Studio is a nice peace of software. I prefer it to Vegas that I got bundled with my new camera, but I'm not going to bother upgrading if each time I change a PC I have to pass through that nightmare....

So what now?

Dou you have some NORMAL solution to my problem or should I say goodbye to wasted past investment and forget all about Studio?

Oh yeah... your support system sucks too!

I need a login and password to ask something????? Well, I couldn't find it but I found this forum login info so now I'm stuck as a beggar here (after spending a fortune on Pinnacle products)... thanks!

Studio 12 upgrade to ultimate - failure to download part 2 due to web page time out - HEEEEELP!

Hi folks,

Don't know if anyone can help with what seems a simple issue as Pinnacle telephone support had NO IDEA. I purchased the downloadable Studio 12 upgrade to Ultimate and it comprises 2 parts to download due to file size. All was well and I downloaded part 1 about 2.2gig but when I clicked on part 2 to download I got a time out message as it did take a long time to download pt1.

Anyway I searched around to find where I can access part 2 and it seemed I could do an order lookup through estore/support but it doesn't recognise my order number and password as I didn't complete the order, aka finish the part 2 download. Went in circles for a few hours trying everything and got no where so called customer support and it took some time for them to appreciate that I just didn't get the chance to press the part 2 download button.

They were checking that part 2 can be downloaded etc but eventually I said just give me a link or direct me to a button to press so I can continue the download! They got that message, but couldn't help and all I got was a customer care number 01016919 but it seem like Pinnacle are on another planet. Haven't heard a thing and now I am left to deinstall PS12 and reinstall to get it working as it was, unless someone here might have some ideas. I like PS12 and really want to stick with it and I would like the ultimate upgrade but, seems like I'm stuck.

I see in this forum that this issue has occurred before but I didn't see a resolution.

error codes during set up

I can,t get a strait answer from pinnacle ,..all I do is talk to answering machines and run around in circles with these people , my theory is there are NO MORE HUMAN BEINGS working at pinnacle, they are all machines !!!!!

OK enough ranting, pardon my spelling , when I get Pissed the spelling goes out the window.

I have been using studio 11 ultimate for a few years now and lateley when I burn the sound was not coming through, I was burning 2 or 3 discs to get one good , a complete waste of money, so ok, the one way to maybe solve the problem is to dump the program and re install it , I mean comon now thats what they tell you do because they can,t come up with an answer. So I dump the program and reinstall,.. during the install

ERROR 6 BAD ATTRIBUTE LINE 0 appears, click ok, then,

ERROR15 ILLEGAL CHARACTER LINE 0 appears, click ok 6 times and is goes away., then

PROCESS FAILS click cancel and it tells me that installation complete and do you want a shortcut on your desktop ? What the hell ?????

Try to start the program and it fails.

Thier solutions is to upgrade and spend more money,.. well **** you,.. I,m not going to shell out a couple of hundred dollars for something that might only last a year .Can anyone besides these pinheads help me out

Studio 14 and Previous Plugins

Why can't Studio 14 automatically take advantage of/install any/all previous plugins that are compatible with S14 and are already on your computer?

No Bias SoundSoap, previous video effects missing, etc.

If find myself going back to S12 rather than facing the obstacles of figuring out how to get the effects I want into S14.

Error message while installing Stuido Plus 10

Hey guys,

Can anyone help me out with this issue. I wanted to install my Studio Plus 10 on my computer but when I put the first disk in I recieve an error message that says "Failed to load InsMagic.DLL" and then my installation is terminated. I wondering if this is a computer problem or softwear problem. Can anybody help me out. or has anyone had this issue before.

Uninstall Dazzle DVC120 service + PCLEPCI Failed to load

I am uninstalling my Dazzle DVC120 in an attempt to fix a conflict. Anyway, after uninstalling the Pinnacle Studio 9 software (included w/ DVC120) I see that Windows XP event viewer states the following two errors:

1). The following boot-start or system-start driver(s) failed to load: PCLEPCI

2). The Dazzle DVC120 service failed to start due to the following error: The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it.

Any ideas on how to stop this Dazzle DVC120 service? and stop Windows from trying to load PCLEPCI?

General question on activation of bonus content?

Hi all -

Just installed S12 (v 12.1.3.6605) PLUS. The package came with an install CD for "Premium Content 1" and one for "Hollywood FX", both of which I installed.

As a general question - do I need to take any further action to "activate: this content? I have seen reference to "activation keys", etc. I believe this is used for when I purchase an individual feature, etc. (?)

In short - I'm not sure I'm actually seeing the access to or activation of all that I might be entitled to,

I'm starting to hate this program! I just upgraded to Studio 14UC....sounds good right?

It is constantly unresponsive! I've been working on a project and now I can't get it to do anything!

There are green areas in the timeline bar that won't go away, the new motion title has changed it's icons to have a black background and I can't open them to edit them, there is no preview in the preview screen, I dont have time to restart my projects every 15 mins!

HELP! Looks like great features but something is obviously wrong!

Is there a document that gives hints to optimize my installation of Studio 14/

In general, I think it is best to have the data on one hard drive and the program on the other. Are there any other ideas to make Studio work most efficiently? Is there a document that you can refer me to for ideas?

Studio 14 Ultimate Collection - hangs when the import button is presses

I installed Studio 14 Ultimate Collection on my Vista Ultimate machine (only a couple of months old) and started Studio. The program starts up with no problems and loads the sample project successfully. The problems start when I press the (1) Import button on the top left of the GUI - when pressed the message "Loading Studio Import..." is displayed for a few seconds then the entire GUI interface in grayed over and does not respond (hangs forever) anymore. Any idea what might be causing this problem (my system information is below).

Computer not starting

I bought a Pinnacle 500 PCI Capture card (software version: 10.5) from a friend. I installed the software (after upgrading my XP to SP3) and it installed without any problem. But then I install the card, turn on the computer, and apart from checking the DVD drive, it does nothing else. The screen's light turns from green to orange, meaning it's receiving no signal. The hard disk isn't working either. The computer turns to normal after I remove the card. What could be wrong? Am I missing an update, patch or something?

Latest patch for S12?

Hi - just installed a purchased copy of S12 PLUS - it's version 12.1.3.6605.

Are there any patches available for this version? Am I up-to-date? I did attempt to find out this info at pinnacle.com - support/downloads, etc. - but didn't find any (actually I found patches, but they said it was to upgrade v12.0, etc... - I already have v12.1 and didn't want to mess things up.

In short - I have v12.1.3.6605, and looking for any advice on patches in case I'm missing something.

I am having trouble rendering menus (HORRIBLE quality) - rest of slideshow rendering is perfect - only menus are bad - and it's been suggested there was a patch to help - but I ain't finding it! :)

Studio 14 HD Ultimate Collection Install error - 1324 Path Contains Invalid Character

I have been unable to install Studio 14 HD Ultimate Collection on my Windows 7 x64 machine. After the serial number screen, I get error "Error 1324: The Path 01 ?Soft Shadow Looks.ixLook contains an invalid character".

I can see that the ? might be a problem, but don't know where it came from and how to get past it. Does anyone know?

I am frustrated by Liquid's inability to handle Sony disc based files. I ordered Studio 14 (Studio is the program that I cut my editing teeth on about 10 years ago). I loaded Studio 14 on a reasonably good computer and was delighted to be able to import and manage *.mts files from a Sony camera. Now I am considering uninstalling the program here and loading it on my main video editing computer that I use with Liquid Edition 7.2. What will happen to Liquid if I do this? Are the 2 programs compatible in the same machine?

Problem installing Pinnacle 10 to upgraded computer

My wife and added a nearly-new computer to our media lab. Her father built it so I can give you general specs (and can eventually answer more detailed questions)

Briefly, it has 4 gigs of RAM, a dual core processor, and at least 28 gigs of space available for installing it. The target drive is linked in a RAID connection with another hard drive.

We can install the first disk. When we get the dialog box that tells us to insert disk 2 (with the file data3.cab), it stalls once either of us presses any button (Browse, OK, Cancel). The odd part is that I've successfully installed the application several times on my smaller computer.

Any ideas, pointers, or suggestions?

Studio 10.6/8 windows xp reboots after exit program

Hello

I`m confused. After reinstalling Studio 10.6 and updating to 10.8 I have a prob. Everytime I exit the program Studio don't go back to the Windows Desktop. Instead of this it always reboots WinXP. What can I do?

I tried until yet: Deisntalltion with regedit, regcleaner and reinsatll but always the same.

My Sys: Win XP Pro with SP3

Edit: It seems for me like a crash. What I will do next is this: In System-Settings I will under startup and recovery clear the automatically restart check box and post the estimated blue screen Failure code here later in the afternoon.

Transfer of Pixie Folder to S14

In the past and with other upgrades or with new installations, the transfer of your prior version of the PIXIE folder has been recommended (other users). It's my understanding that the pixie folder contains all of your purchased activation keys. When I purchase the new S14UC (full version) I intend to search the new installation for this folder and if found make a back-up and then copy my S12 PIXIE folder to replace the S14 folder. This procedure has saved me time and headaches in the past. Has anyone else tried this and have they completed this proceedure using S14?
