Hi,

Somewhat of a pat answer, but using USB2 with NEC based chipset seems to help quite a bit with the USB2 capture devices.... This was seen back in 2005 with studio 9 and MANY people seemed to have much better results once the had installed a NEC based USB2 adapter in their pc. I dont recall if anybody back then was able to find out just why the NEC adapters did so much a better job at capturing than the VIA (or other motherboard based USB2 chipsets) at that time. Perhaps newer motherboard based USB2 chips are better...or maybe not.

I use an NEC based USB2 adapter and mine captures quite nicely....but I did have to get rid of the emStream.sys driver crash error....

SD

Thanks again for sharing your experience with this matter. It came with Pinnacle
2.5.102.0. After I had trouble recording with it, I did a live chat with
Pinnacle Customer support. The told me to do:

1. Move the Dazzle from my USB hub and connect it directly to a USB port on my
computer. Then Reboot. I did that - No change.

2. They told me to download the latest updates to the Pinnacle software. I did,
and am now running version 2.6.116.0 No change.

3. The instructed me to return the unit and get another one. I did.

After installing the new unit, I have the same problem with the new unit. After capturing
the video & audio for a few minutes, and playing it back, the audio starts to lag the video
from after about 2 seconds. At about 4 minutes into the play back, the audio is over 60 behind the video.

4. Chatted with Pinnacle again today (6/28/09). The told me to unload the USB
drivers and get new ones (PCLEUSB2x32.exe). I did. Then I disconnected the
Dazzle unit, loaded them, rebooted, reconnected the Dazzle and tried to capture
5 minutes of video from a VHS tape. The audio still lags the video after about
2 seconds of play back.

5. They asked me to remove and reload the main program which I did to no avail.

In trying to figure out the problem, I've turned off my antivirus realtime protection
program, disabled my wireless network card, and had NO applications running but
Pinnacle. None of this has made any difference.

This is the only computer I have so I haven't tried to load the software and connect
the hardware to a different computer.
