While capturing, it runs fine for a little while then you hear the sound that tells when you add or take away a peripheral device from your computer.

It stops the capture and immediately the sound happens again to show that it found the camera again. It just keeps losing and finding the connection. Is this a problem with my computer or something I need to adjust within Studio?

Initial thought - sounds as though the Firewire data signal that controls your Cam is being interrupted due possibly to a defective Firewire cable.

1) Are you runing Cam from (a weak) battery or Mains supply?

2) Try Capturing with Windows Movieaker - Same Prob?

3) Can you try same cable on a friends PC?

4) Can you borrow a friends cable to try on your PC?.

ADDED - If your Firewire cable's connected to PC's Front Panel Firewire connector(s), try the Back Panel Connector(s).

Added - It might be just a case of not pushing the Firewire Cable 6 pin Connector far enough into Pc's Connector. Those plugs are fairly long & a tight fit. The pin connectors are seated inside, a couple of cms or so, from the end of the plug..
