I had firewire working but I had to reinstall studio as it was very jittery. I have version 9.0 which I then add the 9.3.4 patch. When I connect firewire I have to manually open studio and then select capture. I get a message "If you are trying to capture from a DV or digital 8 Camcorder. 1. make sure thecamcorder isturned on (which it is), is in vtr/VCR/play mode (which it is) and is connected to the 1394 port on the computer (which it is). I amusing a 4 pin to 4 pin and it did work fine until I did the re-install, so the cable is ok. Can I check device manager or something to see if the 1394 is recognised? I am not getting the 'bing bong' sound that I used to get either. Can I install a driver or something?any ideas?
