What capture devices work with Studio 14 and Win 7 64 bit

Hi,

I have a Dazzle dvc 150b capture device that appears to be incompatible with Win 7 64 bit. I have checked and see no drivers for anything close and have relegated myself to the fact it will no longer work. I occasionally need to import vhs or SVHS video and would like to know which capture devices work well with both Studio 14 and Win 7 64 bit.

S14 Capture Freeze

No Problems with capture when I capure from by Sony video camera (mini tape) with direct connect to computer via firewire. However, several problems using 700 usb box and trying to capture from VCR/DVD player or mini dvd from camera via the 700 usb box. Capture always freezes when I try to use higher quality capture...mjpeg or mpeg2 in S14 even with lowest data rate. Was able to capture in S12 on lowest quality setting, but again, not with higher quality. I put the mini DVD in computer drive and captured direct..worked good. Do I need to upgrade the box or VCR/DVD Player? This has been a several years problem and my first thread. I will try anything. Please help. thanks

Capture from PS3

Hi,

I bought a Dazzle DVD recorder to capture some footage on my PS3, I got all the cables and set it up like a few videos on the internet told me to, but when I go onto the software to record, I can't get a preview and it says just above "Start Recording" Burning error.

Can anyone help?

Pinnacle Studio 8 detection problems

Yes Pinnacle Studio 8 is outdated, but it uses very little system resources so I am trying to use it to capture video.

This is what I'm using to capture video, and it plugs in the back of the computer in a card - I'm not really sure exactly what it's called because I've used it for so long.

the red cord is where it plugs in... I hope this helps. Anyway I'm trying to pick this device up with Studio 8, and it works on 12, but is not supported by 14. 12 skips too many frames and I can never get a decent video... so can anyone help me detect this device with Studio 8? By the way, it is a Pinnacle product, it's like the pinnacle card or something, I don't know the name.

Powersupply for Moviebox DV?

My problem is that there is no powersupply unit, so I have to buy something for it.

My questions are: How many volts, DC or AC and ampere does it need?

If DC, + (plus) or - (negative) in the middle of the contact?

Studio 10 Freezes

Alright, so I started up Studio 10 to record/capture...clicked the capture tab and Studio freezes each and every time. It's not sitting there processing or doing work, it simply freezes. I've left it in that state for half an hour to see if it'd move, but it doesn't, therefore it's frozen/locked up. Anybody wanna help?

Dazzle DVC 170/ Studio 10 problem

hello, i've had my dazzle for about two years now, using vista and studio 10 i eventually got it working (had to get all the drivers and stuff) and that was 2 years ago, and its been working fine up until now. Now, when i put on studio 10, i see the preview of my xbox in the preview screen, but when i go to record, it sometimes freezes, and all of the time the file made is 0 bytes, but still says the correct time of the video. The video is obviously unplayable. I don't know what happened,,, any help? again this was pretty random, and the video runs fine when its not actually recording (in the preview window it runs fine) and again, im using vista with a dvc 170 and studio 10.

studio 10 capture problem

ive had studio 10 for a couple years and it used to work, (i have vista) now studio 10 cant capture it correctly (i can see it in preview) but when it tries to save it is zero bytes and doesnt work on any video setting.

i posted a thread about this earlier but since then i have discovered that the dvd recorder works fine for saving so it has to be a studio 10 problem? i patched it again yesterday but it didn't do anything

so i can use the dvd recorder i am just wondering if theres anything to fix the studio 10 capturing cause that was easier.

S14 DVD Importer playback crashes?

You can play a DVD in the DVD drive that is showing up in the Importer window by clicking the play arrow.

If I have my second display enable, however, and click to play, the Importer crashes, ttaking me back to the Edit page. (that is at best - sometimes it locks up and/or disables the second display)

Timed import in Studio 14

In Studio 12 and earlier I could specify that an analogue capture stop after a fixed time. Allowed me to run a capture overnight without filling up my disk. I can't find this in Studio 14 import. Am I missing something? If the feature has been removed, can I have it back? Please!

"Failed to get Video from Device" on Windows 7 / S14 / Audigy 2 firewire

This is a bit strange. I can control my Panasonic GS180 fine (rewind/play controls work, Studio sees that the camera is there) but S14 can't capture the video or audio. It says "failed to get video from device" in the middle preview screen and the "Start Capture" button is disabled.

I'm using a firewire port in a Audigy2 Platinum EX breakout box. Has always worked fine (on Win XP) - drivers seem ok for everything else. Drivers are version 6.0.1.1371 From Creative June 2009.

Any ideas welcome...

Moviebox DV (Firewire) Not Capturing?

I have used Moviebox with Studio9,10,11 ultimate. Captured fine. It even would capture in Nero and quicktime. I had to replace the harddrive and reinstalled Windows XP sp3. I have decided not to install Studio Ultimate 11 on the computer. I need to transfer svhs/Hi 8 onto dvd's. I'm going to use Adobe Premiere now. I am having problems with the movie box. I have connected movie box to VCR with SVHS cable and audio phono jacks. Out is connected to the firewire output and connected to my computer. Input Green LED is over the svhs cable on Movie Box. MovieBox is showing up as AVC Compliant DV Camcorder in Control Panel under Scanners and Cameras and the same under Imaging Devices. When I open up the Premier to Capture it is locking up and nothing can be done except manually turn off the computer. Same thing happens with Nero Capture. I just can't seem to get the moviebox working properly. Without Install Studio11, am I missing a driver for movie box. I see a driver mention in a patch 9.4.3 full and light version... but I think thats if I have Studio installed. Can any one help here? Do I need to install some sort of patch or driver to the computer so it can work without Pinnacle Studio Ultimate? I would also like to use this Movie Box on my (top of line Intel Based Mac book Pro Oct 2008) Thanks for you input.

Dropped frames in DV mode only

I checked the posts and didn't see anything that really matched my problem, so here it goes.

When I try to capture video from my Sony Handycam, I get hundreds of dropped frames with a 60 minute video. Probably just a couple months ago, I was having no problems. I have tried everything that I could think of and nothing has helped. Now if I take that same video and capture it in MPEG mode, there are no dropped frames. One post, that I read, said that it should be the other way around. Go figure. I would like to get this back to where it is working in all modes again.

Here's a little computer background for you. I have a Dell system running XP Home with 1GB of memory. The processor is an Intel Celeron 1.8 GHz. The video chip is an onboard ATI 64MB. The Studio version is 11.1.2.2531 and the card that came with the program is a Pinnacle DV/AV 500-PCI card, driver version 2.0.19.0 (the newest as far as I can tell). I had a couple other problems (incomplete driver/software install) with my system so I rebuilt the drive last week. I formatted the drive, installed Windows again, update all the drivers, and installed some software. I would have thought that a clean install of Windows and Studio would solve the problem. No luck. Well, maybe a little help. Before the fresh install, I couldn't even get through MPEG capture without dropped frames. Also, I have made no hardware or software changes (except program updates) since the last video that I captured.

I would love to get this working again and Avid Support hasn't been much help besides offering me the newest version at a discount. I won't even think about that if I can't get this version working again like it use to. Any help would be greatly appreciated! I have videos waiting to be captured.

Capture PS3 on a mac

Want to record some PS3 gameplay. Have a mac, so i was looking at the Mac video Capture. But, how would you set up the device to capture the PS3? Would i need a RCA splitter? Only thing I can think of. I would have to use a HDMI to RCA, and then split that RCA, one to my Tv, the other to the recorder, right? If So, where do u even find RCA splitters, have never seen one.

Will Studio movie box software be upgraded to version 14 soon? With only a few days of use of the version 14 trial I'd like to purchase movie box with 14. The website description doesn't say anything and one enlarged picture on movie box plus shows the software to be version 12. Thanks.

HELP!!! Capturing from VCR, VHS-cassettes, Dazzle video Creator

Bought the Dazzle video Creator today with Pinnacle studio ver. 11.1 bundled. Was told that I just had to connect my VCR to the bozx, and then: Easy capturing and digitalizing my old VHS cassettes.

But nothing happens. My windows/PC recongnises the box, but no picture or any other contact with the VCR. I use the cables as described, a scart from the VCR and the yellow, white and red into the Dazzle-box, and then ordinary USB to the PC.

I need help - have been searching the forums without finding anything spesific on this.

Dazzle output just keeps getting worse.

I'm having some problems with my Dazzle and I don't know what's causing them. When I got my Dazzle everything worked fine. I was using it with both Studio and Adobe Flash Media Encoder for recording and live streaming on justin.tv. I had no complaints about the quality. Then the video output be came very noticeably interlaced. I know it can't be a problem with the settings in the programs, because the quality is the same in Studio, FME, and HV Muticam. And I know it's not the input, because I've used multiple sources and the quality is the same. The thing that has remianed a constant in all of this the Dazzle itself. Last night I tried recording again to see if I could fix the interlacing somehow and now I can't get any audio. I have no idea why or what to do to fix this. I could use some help.

Is V14 incompatible with Win XP Pro?

I have a Win XP Pro SP3 and V14. Capture doesnt work with my Sony Camera (but it works fine with V12) from firewire or webcam. It wont show a preview and freezes when you press 'start capture'

I installed V14 on a Vista machine and it works perfectly. Is V14 therefore incompatible with Win XP Pro SP3?

How to capture from Live camera in Studio 14 ?

One of my machines, I installed Studio 14 Ultimate Collection, and was trying to capture live from mý Canon MX II, without any DV-tape in "Import section" of Studio 14? ( Free running) I´m using that DV- camera to catch every frame from a Super-8/Regular 8 telecine machine.
In earlier versions Like Studio 12 and so on, there was no problem with a free running camera? Any ide someone in this forum how to make it work?

Studio 14 only supports pinnacle capture devices. Any 3rd party devices I've been told by pinnacle support will not work.

I have a brand new Hauppauge USB capture device, Works with Studio 12 can't find the device with Studio 14

I can download nicely a 3-5 sec video clip, but a 3 min clip processes for awhile and then stops with no download. At the capture tab, it acknowledges my device and the file, BUT IT DOESN'T WORK.

Hi everybody,

I have already boght DVC 90 and DVC 100 boards they work just fine under Windows XP but they are not working to capture audio under Windows Vista Business.

I have tried to install new drivers from the pinnacle site.. but it did not solved my problem.

As I could see in DVC 100 Box it says it is supported under windows vista

any help is appreciated.
