Wow I was just thinking about this and came here to put it in. I agree, leave the 2D and 3D editors in. I use this in every project. It is not a cool tool but a must. As for fixed, I do not recall any problems from my end in the way I use it, so I wouldn't know what need to be fixed. There are so many ways how one uses a tool and that is great. I understand that everyone has his/her own ways so yes if there are any improvements in this tol, than I welcome it with open arms.

Re: Features That You Would Like New or Old to be in the NEW NLE

Hi folks,

I have not been on for a long time. It is my absolute sincere desire to see that the 2d and 3d cpu editors be fixed and presereved. This is with out question the best motion tool in any editor on the market. I'm not sure that Pinnacle even recognizes this.

Having said all this, can someone point me to a thread that may discuss the future of Liquid Edition? Or provide a brief explaination of the NEW NLE?

When working on two or more projects at a time, unless great care is taken to change the setting in the control panel each time you move to another project, the files for one project get mixed up with other projects. It is quite easy to get mixed up and later delete one of the projects while still working on one of the others and you end up with loads of red slices on the timeline.

How about making one of the things to set up when starting a new project is the disc location of the folders that will be used for the data and rendering. That way when changing projects, everything stays in the correct place.

Another feature I would like to see is an all singing and dancing DVD authoring package. One that does everything you can do with a DVD and does it well. I would be prepared to pay for this as an extra program or plugin that integrates with the Liquid timeline. The present DVD authoring leaves a lot to be desired, especially the annoying complete loss of all navigation settings if you change anything at all, which needs to be addressed.

I've come in late on this one and I don't want to trawl through all the pages of suggestions, so apologies if this is already covered.

Re: Features That You Would Like New or Old to be in the NEW NLE

I tested this out in my "Learning by Doing" project and it is cool. I squeezed a 15sec clip down to 10sec and it was much easier than using the timewarp FX editor. Jazzed the clip up just the right amount. I will definitely be using this tool in the future.

Re: Features That You Would Like New or Old to be in the NEW NLE

Well if you need several parts from the same source clip the method is pretty fast. Just press play and the I for in, O for out and B to put the clip on the timeline - and the H to focus the player window again. Repeat. You don't even need to place a mark in on the timeline. The clips will be inserted where the time marker is.

And if you need a clip to fill a specific space on the timeline the three point method is IMHO the fastest.

I like being able to edit with the keyboard too so I don't have to grab the mouse all the time.

Re: Features That You Would Like New or Old to be in the NEW NLE

This is one of the bad things working the way MC does.

I mean I never understood the mark in and out and send to timeline.

Drag it where you need and then trim it on timeline.

It's faster. When you do a four point edit (mark in/out on clip and mark in/out on timeline) then Liquid applies a timewarp to make the marked clip fit the marked range either by slowing it down or speeding it up as required. If you don't want that to happen then don't do a four point edit. There is no other reason to do a four point edit unless you want the clip fit into the marked timeline range and that almost always requires a timewarp to be applied. THIS IS A GREAT FEATURE and MUST be retained in future releases along with the ability to do back-timed three point edits.

Re: Features That You Would Like New or Old to be in the NEW NLE

Lew can you explain this a little bit better?
Re: Features That You Would Like New or Old to be in the NEW NLE

Sorry, but I would disagree with this.
