Audio sysc problem in DVD export

DVD render has audio lip-sync problem.

OK, here is my problem, I have a long (2-1/2 hour) program edited and titled in Liquid 6.1 which plays fine on the time line but after I render it to DVD, it develops audio sync problems the longer it runs. At the 1 hour point the audio is just slightly ahead of the video, by the end it is way ahead of the video. I have been chasing this problem for a while now and it is driving me nuts. I have gone thru every forum and tip sheet I can find and haven’t been able to resolve this issue. I have de-fraged the hard drives, erased all the render files, and updated all the drivers. Still have the same problem. Please Help!

My settings for DVD export are:

My system disk is a 160 GB pata at about 30 %

My Video card is a PNY Verto nVIDIA GeForce 6600GT DirectX 9.0c 128MB

My mother board is ASUS P4P800-E Deluxe with a Pentium4 CPU at 3.20GHz

Audio is on board Realtek AC 97

My OS is Win XP pro sp3

Liquid is version 6.10 Build 4190 SP2(4352)

Workflow for how to get a hd blu-ray project out from Liquid using Dvdit Pro HD

I am not going to teach you how to edit in dvdit pro hd, there are others doing this, link is here.

1. The simple and fast way, you could compare it with creating dvd discs directly out from Liquid.

Work in standard hd, export the timeline as a fuse, import the m2v and the wav file into dvdit pro hd, the 25 mbps videofile will be reencoded to a new 25 mbps videofile of the same type.

2. The uncompressed way, when you have made colourcorrections and wants them to render as hd uncompressed.

After rendering as uncompressed hd, export your project as a 25 mbps mpg file and use the workflow in 1

export as a 85 mbps hd mjpeg avi file using the mjpeg decoder in liquid, you will need to create your own preset in the export - avi set as 1920 x 1080 interlaced and highest quality

or export as a 185 ( 220 for ntsc, more frames per sec ) mbps movfile using the DnxHd codec

both those files are able to handle by dvdit pro hd and will of course be reencoded to m2ts files, Roxios recommendations is to use source media with as high quality as possible to avoid artifacts.

Those 2 highspeed files are also able to import into, for example, adobe mediaencoder for creating 2 pass encoded m2v bluray files, those files are NOT reencoded by dvdit pro hd and will run straight through the program renamed to m2ts, this is my own workflow when I want to create as good quality as possible, it is also the one that takes a long time to create, especially the mov file and I only use it in "special" projects, my imagination tells me that there are some more deep in the movie when I am looking at my plasma, this also goes for dvd projects created in the same way.

What I really should want is to have Liquid to create a highspeed m2v file that is running straight through dvdit pro hd without the need to reencode it but noone has, so far, found the correct export settings for this.

how to playback (record) HDV (1440x1080) timeline to HDV camcorder?

Hi Guys, may be it is a very basic question, but I just tried first to edit a small clip and I wanted to record back to the HDV tape. In DV it is a very simple, but in HDV case I always fail...

My cameras are CANON HV30 and CANON XH A1 both I tried, but there is a mesage at "Record to Tape" menupoint "The Timline format can't be recorded with the selected recorder"....

What did I wrong? - The camcorder is on "play" / HDV format...

DVD will only play on PC/Laptop DVD players....

Trouble using NAS

Hi all,

i try a Thecus-5200 NAS storage. Did someone try Liquid with NAS ?

This is my problem :

1 - make a new project on the NAS storage folder

2 - make a title (F12)

3 - inserting it in sequence and apply a crossdissolve using the tool

it is all ok until i close Liquid. Open Liquid again, move the title on sequence and reinsert a crossdissolve with the tool. The result is a dark red slice only in correspondence of the crossdissolve and the crossdissolve icon on the title is changed to a default one. Clicking on it have no effect.

Then i try with other 2 NAS storages like Thecus 2100 and 4100 with the same result.

At last, i make a new NAS using a normal PC with Openfiler (free linux NAS). Same result.

Green scrambled video on import

I thought some of you experts may shortcut my troubleshooting, and thanks for any help.

Upgraded recently to a 4770 DX10.1 graphic card. ALE working just fine as it did with the replaced DX9 card. But when I try to import a finished AVI (either AVI or fused video), it is scrambled (mostly green). From Windows utilites, it plays just fine.

Importing original footage captued from Scenalizer also works/shows properloy. But not video created by ALE.

Nothing in the forums about this problem.

Any thoughts??

is there a driver for the bob 64 bit out there or in the makings. just curious.. i do us xp pro not connected at all to the internet due to latest viruses and it is set up in a hot shoe. probably have to do all my capturing with it, as i also use my dv500 and scenalyzer to copy my hi8 tapes and keep the sound timed right.. sure wish pinnacle and avid would support their product more,,,

Mon Camescope Sony HDR-SR11 produit des fichiers m2ts. Ce format ne figure pas dans la liste des extensions connues de Liquid 7.2. Est-il possible de les importer sans les convertir comme je le fais actuellement.

Précision : mon micro et ma carte graphique récente supportent ce format..

Quelqu'un a-t-il une solution, grand merci d'avance.

I have been using Liquid 7.2 for several months...but I seldom use Hollywood FX. Today I tried to find it (FX) in the Library, but it wasn't there. I exited L7, inserted the L7.2 disk and found Hollywood FX there...then installed it, then restarted L7. FX now shows up on Windows Explorer (and will open from there), but it is still not in the Library window of L7.2. Do I need to uninstall Hollywood FX and try again...if so, what do I need to do to assure L7.2 recognizes it?

Avid liquid loses link to media when closed down and reopened

All new projects show media imported from camera in the rack and it can be put on the timeline but when Avid is closed and then reopened the media is missing (question marks appear and the timeline is red). The media is present on hard drive under reels. The media cannot be found by Verify Imported Media but can be re-imported successfully. However, closing and reopening Avid loses the media again. This is the first time this has happened in several years of use! Any suggestions as to why it is happening and how to overcome the problem?

Green greemlings on my rendering????

I have a huge problem rendering the timeline. Everytime i do i get a green dominance over each effect or overlay. clearly it's having a hard time rendering any more than a straight cut. i have tried all different kind of settings codecs and bitrate. still the same it will render, fuse, avi , mpg2 and everyime with a green dominance over each fade, super, key, or overlay.3D or 2d effect. I have used liquid 7.2 for over two years now and althou this is a new installation on a new computer i never experienced anything as stupid and tidious as this. I have a program to deliver and apart from seeing a perfect timeline i cant do crap with it... anyone has any suggestions...? i have istalled the DX10 update thinking that would resolve the issue but even that didnt do anything, my boss seams to be of the impression that i have to get it to render from the CPU and not the video card, if this is possible where the hell is this option? he had exactly same problem and he had to downgrade the videocard to solve the issue. but that was before my time with him i always found liquid 7.2 to be running well on his machines.

This happened to another project i did earlier using the same captured video and same PC but with a different name project i have no idea if it is the instalation of liquid i did.... as this is the first time i'm using it on this PC.

The PC i'm running is: AMD athalon 64x2 Dual Core Procesor 5200+ 2.71 GHz 2.00 GB of ram and with a nvidia Gforce 8500GT all the latest udates have been done to win XP and to the video card. Liquid version 7.2 and i'm running liquid on dual monitors.

A little bit of insanity for your minds.. once i rendered the timeline with its ugly green flashesd and dominances i can convert it to a DIVIX with DIVIX authring tool (outside liquid) and magically the green crap is gone giving me a perfect avi to upload on the internet. if this is the only use i had for liquid i would change job to web designer. i'm an editor. i need to deliver from my avid broadcast quality programs.

Any suggestion or help would be greatly appreciated.

Audio and video out off sync

I use Liqiud Pro 7.20 and Win XP SP2 and my HDV-camera is JVC GY-HD201. I use the firewire-port in the computer.

Now I have a problem. If I capture a longer take (more than 5 minutes) into Liquid the video (picture) and the audio go out of sync. The difference between audio and video grows the longer the take is.

Has anyone an idea? What can I do?

Multiple AVI Files!

Hello,

When shooting multicamera events I use Firestores on the cameras. The problem with using these devices is that they have toe 2Gb File limit when in AVI 2 mode. This means that when I come to editing I have multiple AVI files for each camera. This would be fine but it becomes a problem when using the multicam mode in liquid. The multicam will stop when it gets to the end of each clip, so as you can imagine thats a lot of stopping when you have 3 cameras!

Is there a way to join AVI files together without having to render them into another file? If there is then how is it done and what software do I need to do it? Ideally I would like to take all these AVI files and make them into one clip per camera, but it has to be quick otherwise I may as well just digitise the tapes! Alternativly is there a way to make files in liquid work as one clip? I know you can do this with cotainers but they do not work in the multicam mode.

Hi I'm running Liquid 7.2 and shooting on P2.

I've had no problems loading into liquid from camera using X receive. However later on I have issues. On a couple of occasions I have deleted an icon from the bin and tried to import again (.mxf file) into the project (from the media drive where Liquid put it.) No luck, Sometimes I have managed to import the video but audio fails (wrong compression?) Does anyone have an answer?

EXPORT TO TAPE CANON HX A1 ISSUES

Hi:

After weeks of work, I have finally gotten up to speed on editing with AVID. I love it, and find it superior to FCP which in my estimation is HIGHLY overrated.

I am sure many of you are aware of the various codec/conflict/ issues with CANONS wonderful line of 24f HD cameras! Adobe premiere would not properly import or "index" m2v files from this camera.

FCP does not have an updated codec for the 24f in their latest version. ARGGHHHH!

I have little hair left! Here is my issue: Export to tape. The Avid interface recognizes my camera, but when I go to "stripping" tape dialog, I am informed this timeline cannot be exported using the Canon XH A1.

Do I need to do a format conversion of some type? I tried to do and AVI copy on a new timeline, but got some message when attempting to export.

Tried all the NTSC camera settings, HD, NTSC, 23, 29, etc.

AVID was reading my camera a PAL camera (Which I corrected).

I am running 8GB RAM, over 600 GB HDD.

Used the "ouytput wizard" but still nothing.

I have been having export to DVD issues, but that's another issue.

Anyone?

- Of course when I put this message to the bid, I can run the liquid well, but I dont like this message all the time when I start... I have administrator right as user I think (?). Is there any important setting in W7 what is good to know about this rights...?

I am considering the Sony xr500v camera. The recording specs are: HD format = AVCHD 1920 x 1080, AVCHD 1440 x 1080, SD Format = MPEG-2 format.

I am aware that L7 cannot import AVCHD, but my question is if the AVCHD is converted to HD for import, will the frame size be a problem? Also, will L7 import the MPEG-2 format?

Which codec should I see on the LE 7.2 Pro system tab for HDV capture from a Canon camcorder?

I am probably missing something obvious, but when I try to capture HDV from a Canon HV20 (via BOB IEEE terminal), when I end the capture, I get a missing codec error.

I am frustrated by Liquid's inability to handle Sony disc based files. I ordered Studio 14 (Studio is the program that I cut my editing teeth on about 10 years ago). I loaded Studio 14 on a reasonably good computer and was delighted to be able to import and manage *.mts files from a Sony camera. Now I am considering uninstalling the program here and loading it on my main video editing computer that I use with Liquid Edition 7.2. What will happen to Liquid if I do this? Are the 2 programs compatible in the same machine?

TDK Pro and Liquid 7.x install on W7

I just installed Avid L7.21 and as expected TDK RT did not work. I uninstalled that and installed TDK Pro 2.x and set it to Windows XP SP2. TDK Pro does run by itself... how do I get Avid Liquid 7.21 to recoginize it from within?

Problem reinstalling LE 7.2 after Studio 12

I'm trying to install Studio Plus 12 and LE 7.2 on same machine so I can try making HD disks.

LE 7.2 already installed an working on Windows XP Pro.

I did following:

1. Installed Studio 12.

2. Installed Winter Pack. The install "hung" and never finished. I thought maybe needed to updates Windows XP Pro.

3. Installed Windows XP Service Pack 3.

4. Uninstalled and installed Winter Pack. It went through OK.

5. Reinstalled LE 7.2 update.

Here is where the problems are:

During reinstall of LE 7.2 update, I get following errors:

"mp4FileLibu.dll was not found. Reinstalling application may solve the problem." (this error reported twice during the procedure)

"The procedure entry point ??kMemoryCacheEx@@QAE@xz could not be located in dynamic link library cachex.dll"

I let the install continue.

LE and Studio both startup and so far run OK, but I'm sure if something is damaged and may cause a problem later.

Is anyone familiar with these errors?

Sony ClipBrowser version 2.5 problems with liquid

just to inform you all

i downloaded the new clipbrowser software version 2.5 from sony for xdcam ex and i recognized that the transcoding to mxf for nle systems goes a lot faster then the old one!

!!!!!!!!!But be carefull this version of mxf files is a problem for liquid!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The exported file of the software is alright file works well in adobe cs4 or in media composer but in avid liquid each file is always only 9 sec long and it is not able to playback by liquid!

So i suggest for all which working with that stay on version 2.0 of the clipbrowser i know it´s a pain in the .... but it is in the moment the only why to do so!!!

If anyone has other experience then let me know

Please Pinnacle /Avid can that be repaired because it would safe a lot of time the new clipbrowser!!!! Or can it be directly import supportedt for that like in Edius or in premiere?
