Another suggestion is to convert the PDF to a still image format like JPEG and import the file. An idea worth trying, I am assuming.

Thanks for the suggestion. Your solution of cut and paste makes a lot of sense. I was over complicating the problem.

Short answer: No, you can't open a doc or pdf directly from within Studio

Long answer: I usually copy and paste the text from documents into a title positioned at the appropriate place on the timeline to complement my video. Using either the static or roll-up buttons allows you to control how the transplanted document is presented on the screen.

I'm trying to make a DVD study guide for teachers. On the DVD will be videos and photos. I'd also like to add a document section containing study guide text. It's about eight pages long, and is currently in a Word document format, but can be saved as a.pdf, or other type of file. Have saved it in a variety of formats, in a file folder on my computer. But, when I access that folder, nothing appears.
