I would be really interested to see what your thumb-drive benches with a detail benchmark program like ATTO (can you post a screen-shot of it?) - I don't believe there are many (any?) thumb-drives fast enough to outperform a typical hard drive nowadays.
IMO its a waste of money and you can do way better by maxing out your mobo's RAM and then running with no disk based swap-file (I can achieve that with only 2G already with no problems)
