I don't know if I understand your entire situation relating to a crashed computer.  It sounds like you have got the various files/artifacts scattered all over.

The first thing that I would do is to put all of those items in a single spot (e.g. an external drive).  Then I would check each item to be sure that it is in the condition that it needs to be.  Then retry you project (you will need to re-establish the 'pointers' since they have now been moved).
