Still trying to figure how to help.  Reading back through your post on 4/2.  When you tried to open importer.exe - did you get a small window titled "Importer' WITH a 'push-button' inside  labeled "Import"?

I tried this today and when I tapped on that push-button, I got the Capture screen and used it to capture a VHS tape.  Or did you not see the push-button on your screen?
