Studio 17 does have an option to import projects from S12. How well it will work may depend on the complexity of the project. I wouldn't count on it being able to preserve anything to do with menus. Audio changes, effects and titles may have issues as well.

There is supposed to be a trial version out in the near future, and if you aren't aware of how different S17 is to 12 I've recommend you wait for that to become available.
