Now you will know why I gave myself the "username Novice".  This is a question with a simple answer, I know, but right now I don't have the answer.

Sometimes when I add a pic to my timeline I get black bars on both sides of the picture.  I have been getting around this by using the "zoom" feature,

but sometimes if I use "zoom" on a jpeg that has words on it I get a blurred result.  Is there something I can do to remove the black bars besides "zooming" in?
