Happy thanksgiving. By then tropical storm Ada should have passed through your area. My kids (now in their 40's) all have homes of their own but hardly a day goes by that one or more doesn't drop in with great/grandchildren. It's a relief when we get a quiet day. Still, woudn't have it any other way - would we?

No doubt you will be using Pinnacle to edit your video of the event. Which brings me to a gripe that I have regarding their backgrounds and menus. To me they are too americanised for european taste where subjects such as thanksgiving and baseball are not at the top of my wish list. Something ought to be done to change the subjects for other areas of the world, even if this is a separate download.

Provided I do not import (particularly mpeg) or output to DL discs using S14, I find everything inside S14 seems to work despite only having a 2.2GHz single core processor. Today I tried montage for the first time with some digital pictures in HD. So far so good with no freezes although of course the rendering is a bit slow.

I do not have any personal experience of solid state HD's but there are several posts on the subject (type SSD in search). I believe I am right in saying that you would be better off with a conventional sata drive both in terms of price and performance.
