So basically, what I'm hearing is that I can disable every essential (to the rest of the computer, if not Windows) service, or just boot in safe mode, but there is really no way to run the program the way I used to, without having to reboot before trying to compile.  What I want is for someone out there who is a real geek (in a good way) who has seen this problem before, to tell me what I should uninstall to get it so that Studio behaves the way it used to without my having to jump through hoops each time.  This seems like a needle in a haystack, trying to find out what is causing the problem, and I am just not sophisticated enough to attempt it.
