Hi,
The Benderx64.sys driver is definitely one of the pinnacle installed drivers. So it is likely at least partyly safe to say IT is a problem for you.
The other freezes (or lockups) during capture, if they are similiar to what I have seen using a USB device, can be related to the device being caught up in a IRQ (interrupt) conflict, often with video hardware or USB hardware. This is why it was suggested to move the PCI adapter to a diffeent slot, because the other slot will likely use a different IRQ number.
An alternative, that may or may not be available to you, is to go into the BIOS and try reserving an IRQ (for a specific PCI slot) assignment. Not all BIOS's let you do this, and do be careful doing so. If you aren't familiar about BIOS tweaking, DO read up about it before attempting it yourself !!! Gateway may have the BIOS locked up so as this may not even be an option for you 8-(
How much RAM does this PC have ? With Vista a minimum of 2GB is desired, and for 64bit OS 4GB is better.
Has Pinnacle released "newer" drivers for the PCI card used in a Vista x64 system ?
Every so often, you are stuck in one of those odd setups where things conflict and there is no specific resolution. The hair-puller is that your adapter may work fine in a different pc, with basically the same set up.
