Thanks for the reply. I was just hoping there was something that could do that would allow the sound to pass through to my speakers via the firewire without having to do any workarounds. Although, what you suggested is a good idea.

What I did was grab some old speakers that had audio inputs on them and just split the signal from the VCR to those speakers as an interim solution. Since I really don't need to see the video (it's already being displayed on the Pinnacle Import screen) I thought this the best alternative.
