Thanks SmetVid for making these available. I used quite a lot of colour correction in my last project (balancing two different cameras) and was a little disappointed in the quality drop, so hopefully these will help next time.
My source material is 1080i50 HDV from a Canon XH-A1 and a Sony FX1. Target outputs are:
- HDV master tape (1080i50)
- Normal DVD (VBR 6Mbps average, 8Mbps max, normally)
I don't have huge amounts of spare disc space for render files. At this stage, I don't expect I'll be fusing the whole thing to an intermediate codec, just trying to squeeze a little better quality from transitions, time-warps and colour correction. I wonder if those who have been there before me could describe the sorts of difference to be expected by, say, using a 4:2:2 render codec instead of 4:2:0, or an I-frame only codec rather than an IPB version. Which presets should I try first?
Thanks in advance.
