defragmented and hoped that would work, but still doesn't.  can't make movie, can't open another project (and close current one) - says opening project please wait and then does nothing but freeze.  in all cases have to use ctr alt del to close program.  created a completely new file with very short video clip (to see if problem in long movie file or something...) .  when asking it to make movie (after selecting "create disk content but don't burn" got  this message:
