To Jon RT and all the rest:

 Is it true or false that a Studio DVD will always have sound if the user designates PCM as the output audio format?

My impression is that the glitch owes to some flaw when the source audio is Dolby 5.1 (or something else) and the user selects Dolby 2 or anything other than PCM for the disc output audio.

My apologies if anyone has already tested and discarded this hypothesis.  All I know is that one project I did yielded silent discs, no matter how many times I rendered or burned, until I switched the output format to PCM.

 Of course, whatever the cause or (as the MDs say) the etiology, it would be nice to see fixed.
