I have been running PS 25 Ultimate on Windows 10 Home.  I had to re-install windows, then re-install PS25.

Now, when I click on PS icon, the splash screen appears, then nothing.  I tried the suggestion for changing the shortcut property to use Pinnacle Studio.exe as suggested in this thread: http://forums.pinnaclesys.com/forums/thread/817093.aspx

But, still getting the same thing. 

Tried re-installing and repairing.  Same thing.   Also tried installing PS24 (which worked previously).  Same thing.

How can I figure out what is going on? 

Complete reset might solve this issue : rename C:\Users\Yourusername\AppData\Local\Pinnacle_Studio_25\Studio\25.0 to C:\Users\Yourusername\AppData\Local\Pinnacle_Studio_25\Studio\25.0.old

Warning : Studio will be reset to its original state like the very 1st time you installed it.

Note : if it doesn't solve your problem, you can reverse the reset by deleting the new C:\Users\Yourusername\AppData\Local\Pinnacle_Studio_25\Studio\25.0 and renaming C:\Users\Yourusername\AppData\Local\Pinnacle_Studio_25\Studio\25.0.old to C:\Users\Yourusername\AppData\Local\Pinnacle_Studio_25\Studio\25.0

Thank you.  Tried the reset.  Got a little past the splash screen to the user experience screen -- then it crashed/stopped/disappeared.

Is there a way to change the default directory away from c:\documents?  In Windows 10 Home that directory is forced to be an online directory, and that could be causing the problem.  There is no way in Windows 10 (latest version) to un-sync the documents folder from one drive.

Furthermore, I discovered that I can start PS25U if I right click the icon and "run as administrator". 

I don't have solid evidence that there is a connection between failure and document folder as I went into control panel and switched everything out of c:\documents -- and still can't start PS25U unless I "run as administrator". 

 

I just installed PS 25 ULT on a Windows 11 machine and had this problem. I recently bought a Canon R5 and installed the EOS utility that transfers images over WI-FI and updates firmware. It automatically starts when Windows 11 starts and runs in the System Tray. I quit the program and installed PS ULT 25. It starts and runs normally. Whenever I start the Canon EOS utility, PS stops at the splash screen. It appears that something is conflicting with the Canon software.

I already heard about the same situation with Canon software screwing up Pinnacle Studio.
