Hello, I have the old problem again on new PS24.
I edit a movie from one source (MPEG4 Video (H264) 1920x1080 30fps 19999kbps, AAC 48000Hz stereo 95kbps, more details in attachement).

After export, some clips in movie are missing sound. Here is what I found out:

• Its random, some clips have sound a some dont. On next export its different clips. All clips are from one original media file. Clips are from 1 to 10 minutes long, whole movie has 30 minutes.
  
• If exporting to wav its still the same.
• Exporting only few seconds somewhere in a movie mostly have sound but not always
  
• Changing sound settings a bit (volume, noise cancelling) doesn't help.
  
• Deleting prerendered files doesn't help.
• Disable GPU acceration doesn't help.
• Set "Always render ..." doesn't help.

Just installed patch 24.1.0.260, the issue is still there.

Any ideas? I know that PS23 got a fix for similar issue, but this is PS24.

 

After reading this forum I cannot understand why similar issue is present in almost every version.

The issue isn't present in every version because it isn't. I've never experienced this problem. Never. I work with video H264, 4K 50/25P and 1080 50/25P from Panasonic cameras. 

So, what created the video files? And you say it's some files, is it always the same file? 

Did you try the PS23 work around by cutting the clip on the timeline where the audio has dropped out and see if the audio starts again at the cut?

Did SharkeyCB ever get this audio drop out figured out?

Ya, I was trying to get him to give us an update.

Patch 24.1.0.260 does not help me.

As I was reading this forum I found out that most versions have similar issue. Most users does not have it but some do.

Original files were created with phone (Redmi8). I already remade same movie in Power Director and have no issues with sound there.

Yes I tried to cut the clips and sometimes it helped. Sometimes audio drop just move elsewhere.

The problem is the cellphone video. I would hazard to guess that it is a variable frame rate video. While a lot of cellphone video do work with Pinnacle smoothly, it seems that your footage doesn't.

Use what works for you.

I uploaded mediainfo when I post my question. You can see there it has variable bitrate.

I don't see anywhere in Pinnacle Studio manuals or help that I cannot use variable bitrate.

Now I know why it doesn't work but can't easily fix it anyway. I choose PS because I want more modern and easy to use video editing program. This is useless for me.

 Variable bitrate should be fine.  It's variable frame rate that causes an issue for non-linear editors.

It is a good habit to run your variable frame rate clips through handbrake and make them fixed frame rate if you plan on using them in any non-linear editor.  You understand that there is no timebase in a variable frame rate clip,  Non-Linear editors need a timebase/frame rate
