We are working on a 17 minute video that uses a mask track all the way through the video.  We are using a Green Screen Fx to superimpose the video over an image, then use a Mask track to outline an area where the subject is at such that a tree and a tree branch can look like it's in front of our subject as she enters into the screen.  The mask track works beautifully for this effect.

However, when we exported the video to HD 1080 it takes over 8 hours to export.  Is there a way to speed this up so it doesn't take a whole day to render this project each time we want to make a change?

1. Task Manager was not open during rendering.  In fact nothing was open until I decided to open the Radeon Manager program to look at GPU usage (which was 0%).

2. Antivirus is Windows 10 Defender and yes that's always running.

Hardware acceleration is set to AMD I believe.  I remember hitting AUTO and it found that option.

Open Task Manager and watch to see what shows up.

Very seldom is the GPU not being used. I personally haven't masked anything but will do a few clips to test.

What if you set it up to Intel ?

I did a "quick" test. 1080P MP4 file with screen screen. Project length was 16 seconds. The green screen effect I used was Studio Chroma Keyer. I masked one of the people on the side as you can see in the image.

On my computer, exporting the same as the timeline, it took 1:53 to export completely. I had Task Manager open, and the max CPU usage was 17% and max GPU usage was almost 5%.

IF there was a project that had much longer clips to mask, it's going to take some time to export. 

Is this slow? I haven't compared this to other editors export speeds, so can't say. Does the software utilize my hardware? Not in the least.
