Hi,

I've not used Pinnacle Studio for a while but when I tried to last night I had a couple of problems that I can't resolve.  They are:

1.  I get no sound from within the program.  The level bars move to the sound but nothing comes out of the speakers.  When the video is created, the mpg plays perfectly with sound.  All other programs have sound.  I have checked the settings an can find nothing wrong.

2. I can't change the level of the sound in the clips by adding a handle to the green line and dragging it to a different level. I think I am doing something wrong because I made it work once but I can't repeat it.

Can anyone help me with these issues, please?

I am using Studio 19.

If the VU meter is moving when you play the video on the timeline, and you hear nothing, have you checked your Volume Mixer? The little speaker icon on the lower right of your Windows taskbar.

Right mouse click, Open Volume Mixer and make sure the volume is all the way up for Pinnacle.

 

Re your #2:  I got so frustrated by this, too.  Came back to using the software after being away for a while.  I KNEW there was a way to drag and change that green volume line, but it was sure evading me!

  The trick is to click the icon that looks like a series of sound bars.  You're then able to edit the sound levels directly on the tracks.

 

Per your #1, Windows shows a separate volume mixer for Pinnacle Studio when I open the sound mixer, so it's possible for this to be off but other programs still playing normally.

I would not call this a trick but a feature.  

Thank you to those who replied.  Both problems solved as suggested. I knew it was something I was doing wrong.  I didn't even know I could right click the speaker icon!

Ive also seen that there is a S19.5 patch available.  I'll download that too.
