Hi,
I'd like to hear from others about this topic. Rendering drives me insane as it takes up so much waiting time when editing.
My system is a Dell T3610 with an Intel Xeon CPU E5 -1650 v2 @ 3.5 GHz; 16 GB RAM; 64 bit; Windows 10 Pro; AMD Fire Pro V4900 (Fire GL V) Graphics adapter and a 2TB Crucial SSD.
As an example, placing 194m (approx) of video clips ( 6 timelines with 2 x 17m clips on each of 5 timelines and 2 x 12m on a single timeline) takes at least 60 m to render before I do anything!!!! Playback optimization is set to 7; Hardware acceleration type is set to "None"; Render while Play is "off".
Now when doing editing, I can watch paint dry quicker!! Some of us when editing are not confined to 3 or 4 minute videos on a single timeline as all the Studio examples demonstrate with their immensely fast rendering times. One of the advantages of purchasing the Ultimate version of Studio is that it has an infinite number of timelines. If that is the case, just using less than 10 should not be a problem?
What are other user's experiences?
The requirements for Studio 22 are given in the attachment and and I think that my system is within those parameters?
If improvements are suggested as to how to significantly reduce rendering time, please let me know. During rendering, BG Renderer uses 84% of CPU and and Studio uses 1900MB of memory.
If my experience is shared, then I plead with the good folk in Studio for significantly improved rendering speeds and, also, that they endeavour to recommend realistic PC requirements . Do I really have to migrate to another software such a Media Composer (and all the attendant problems of learning a new system) in order to have faster rendering times?
For example, is it possible to have a minimalist Windows 10 system in operation when using Studio so as to enable faster response times? If so, anyone any ideas as to what Windows 10 tasks can be ended? There are 120 Processes (Tasks) running on my system!!!
Thanks.
