Hi folks i've been away for some years & have decided to try and get back into editing again so have dusted off my Studio 16 install.

Since it was last used I've installed another drive which has about 100GB of photos & video on it & I set it as watch folder, it has started showing these files in the library, but gets through so far and then just freezes.

I seem to remember that at one point if we had problems with the library there was a file that you could delete once Studio was closed & next time you started Studio it would rebuild the library, anyone give my memory a nudge please.

Still the same PC

The file is Settings.xml and you'll find it in a location similar to C:\Users\<your name>\AppData\Local\Pinnacle\Studio\16.0\Settings

After deleting the file, Studio will rebuild the library and effects database - settings will go back to defaults but assets already imported into the library should still be there. If you want to "start over" and completely delete everything that's in the library and start-up as if it's the first run, you can take the more drastic step of deleting (or moving/renaming) the entire contents of the C:\Users\<your name>\AppData\Local\Pinnacle\Studio\16.0 folder.

It's looking good, i had to give it a few kicks but i think its just about up to date now, I decided rather than try and load the whole drive into the library I'd just do one of the main folders that contains a couple of sub-folders.

I've managed to get something very basic on the timeline to play with and get my hand back in.

If you are looking for a camera and don't want to push to 4K (depends how good your PC is) then you can probably pick up a second hand GoPro - say a 3+ or 4 - for a lot less money. I have used a 3+ on my bike and the results are fine. Ypu can't use 4K on 16 anyway.

Hi Hansi, it's good to be back, lots of learning ahead as just ordered a new PC and going to be upgrading to 22 Ultimate .

My avitar here is about the only place that kite flies these days, however  i still have a hobby to video in the form of cycling
