saw a thread on a german site explainig that you have to basically reconstruct the full files & directory structure of a Panasonic cam; using plain .m2ts from Sony or Canon won't work unless you do this

You might want to check out Vasst's new AVCHD Upshift progam, supposed to work with any NLE. Here's the link http://vasst.com/product.aspx?id=bf3e2d5a-7c2e-4969-a8dd-7cee2cefba30

Just quickly tested the tool, and noticed that it produces HP@HL MPEG2 files.

When importing these in AL, I always get a red slice, no matter what T/L setting I use (e.g. HD 1920 * 1080, Uncomp. YUV or M2V).

Any way to have a T/L that would not require an extra transcoding when working with the files produced by AVCHD Upshift ?

Other tips to optimize the workflow AVCHD -> AVCHDUpshift -> AL ?

    Tx

    CIPO,

I gave up trying to do this.

I ended up using the WD TV HD standalone player to play my original AVCHD files (from a Canon camcorder); when doing more serious editing, I convert the AVCHD rushes to HDV or MPEG2 I-frame 1920 * 1080i then work with Liquid. Sorry I no longer have the link to that german forum, you could try with Google.de

I got it already, the problem is that it doesnt work if the file is not generated by a panny cam. It seems it is only checking the dir tree of the SD memory though. I am trying to find out how to trick it around :)
    thx
