Up to now, all users who received this DiscAPI experimental fix got their burner back in Studio and did not experimented rendering problems. I don't know when a final patch will come and would not expect it immediately due to teh summer time. But this DiscAPI fix is actually a very good answer for the burner not showing up in Studio 11.

FYI - Adobe seems to be having the same issue with Photoshop (and other software)

I have had a nearly similar issue.  What is really pathetic is the 1st level support tech told me to uninstall and reload in Safe Mode!  Everything works fine up until it is supposed to do something with the DVD.  Then I receive the following message:  "Instant DVD Recorder has encountered a problem and needs to close.  We are sorry for the inconvenience."  The Error signature is the following:

"AppName:  d2dwizard.exe            AppVer2.0.71.0             ModName:  premaster.dll        ModVer: 3.0.150.0           Offset: 0000c234"

 Just once, I would like to purchase a technical tool online and it work the first time around!  This product was referenced on C/Net Reviews as a worthy product. What a joke!

Is there any remedy for this?

Uninstall it from ADD/REM PROGS & leave it off your PC.

I have un installed and reinstalled the software 3xs and done the patch and now i've found the this zip file.. but i get stuck at 5th step of the read me file .. I copied the file to another location rebooted found the file again but when i go to step fix I can't figure out what the heck they are talking about.. .. Any help or tricks woudl be great.. I'm pulling my hair out and about to throw my montior...

In most cases, uninstalling Instant DVD Recorder works (that is if you don't have any use of the said software).

I can't help but say this is a good catch, Mark. I used to work with Macromedia (now part of Adobe) some years back. Just having some flashbacks

I have the same problem as many people seem to have. Studio 11 cannot see my DVD writer. Have seen the threads on this and tried all the various patches re-installs, uninstalls etc.

Pinnacle - is there a definitive fix for this. Slowly being driven crazy by this problem

Not sure if my problem is a failure to see my DVD writer or not.

When I click the "Create Disc" button, nothing happens.  Zippo.  This is true whether I attempt to burn directly to disc, use safe mode, or create disc content but don't burn.  Actually, that's not true, the green "Create Disc" button turns to a red "Cancel" button; then the program hangs.  Burning to file works fine.

 I'm using Studio version 11.1.1.5224.  A TSSTCorpDVD+-RW.  Windows Vista.

 I've tried the experimental patch as well.

Any suggestions?

Studio 11 cannot see my DVD writer.

Uninstalling Pinnacle's InstantDVD from ADD/REM PROGS, if you have it, has cured this prob, for some. 

Youi can check to see if your burner is seen under Make Movie preferences.  If the burner is seen, it is a different issue. By any chance do you see 2 of each codec when you pick DVD or whatever type of movie you are making?  If so, try the other "DVD". You may have been bitten by the "double codec" problem. You can search "crash recipe" or "double codec" for 2 key threads on that issue.

Hi there.. i have that same problem with my Dazzle 170.. I even formatted my computer..and only installed this instant dvd recorder program  but its not working..  it gave me the error 0000c234.

The strange part is.. it worked fora  few dvd's than it stopped working.. can anyone help me with this please????

I got the same error. After much reading i tryed something and it worked for me.

Downloaded and installed Instant DVD Recorder version 2. Copied the folder "C:\Program Files\Pinnacle\Studio 10\programs\PCLE.DiscAPI" to the folder "C:\Program Files\Pinnacle\Instant DVD Recorder". I first renamed the old "PCLE.DiscAPI" in this folder . My version of studio 10 is version 10.8.  And HAPPY, Happy, it works again.
