That's the same problem. It is not that Studio is not detecting the burner, but more that some DVD export functiosn are not enabled. So the Service Patch to come will fix both.

Same here! Windows task manager showes no activity when Studio gets to the halfway point "Writing final file". It looks like Studio is working but nothing happens and no files have been written to the folder I choose for the output. My project is only 18 mins long and wouldn't take this long to write the final file. I canceled and re-started but it picked up from where I left off.

I'm using an DVD mpeg2 file I created while waiting on the DVD fix patch. I am going to cancel it again and delete all aux files and try again and report back.

Left a DVD to render to an image running while I went out for the day - 1 menu with 2 motion thumbnails linking to 2 29 minute AVI files. On my return ( four hours later) it too was hung on writing final file. Lots of space on the render drive.

I'll do a few tests.... 

Downloaded the patch and out of desperation even loaded the beta.  Still does not recognize my writer.

Nice, I am not the only one, I went back with a image from the pc. With the installation of  placebo's his methode, look one page back. That one is working.

We have to wait for an other patch I thing.

 

 

Creating a DVD fails in all 3 modes - straight to disc, safe mode and create image - video_TS or ISO file. When the M2V and MPA files are finished and ready to be muxed together, that's when things go wrong. Direct to disc gives a failed error. Safe mode just hangs without creating any files that I can see, as does create Video_TS. Create an ISO creates a 32MB fle that then fails to grow.
 

Now I have the 32MB never growing filesize problem and no DVD writer problem also!

Have you applied the R3 patch? It might make your burner visible. Sadly unusable though

I tried again with a simple test project about 1 min in length and same issue, gets to writing final file and never finishes! DVD writers do show now but can't finish writing the final file (not to DVD) but to HD.

And it doesn't write straight to disc either? See my earlier post.

I tried the R3 patche.  Same as reported by others.  It just hangs on creating final output.

have you tried safe-mode too? (writing an image before writing to disc)

Yes that is what I have done! Others have also tried writing direct to disc but same results. Anyone out there used the R3 patch that was having "Writer not found" issues and now can write the final file?

We have to wait for a new patch, this wrong one, r3 is already removed from the download page.

FWIW ..

My computer used to see my DVD writer with Pinnacle 10.  It cannot detect my DVD writer with Pinnacle 11 and R3 patch installed.

My driver deatils are: _NEC DVD_RW ND-1100A

My System:  Windows XP SP 2
