Studio 12 Winter Pack Re-Installation Server Problem

I have changed my hard drive and had to reload some software.  I reloaded Studio 12 without a problem except for the Winter Pack.  When I go to load the Winter Pack I get a "Server not available message"  I have the original software on disc so I do not know why I need to contact a server.  I am using Windows 7 and Firefox as my browser.  Any help would be appreciated.

    Welcome to the Forum Smile

Try Copying Winter Pack CD Contents to a New Folder on your Desktop & Run the Setup EXE File from there.

    Anyone-else?

Thanks for the reply.  I should have mentioned in my posting that I tried saving the file to the desktop and ran the setup from there.  I also tried running setup as an administrator.  Unfortunately I got the same poor result.

Never had the Winter Pack. Assume it's additional Winter themed Titles, Menus,  etc  Content.

Lot of different bundles/deals around at the time, with different deliveries.. Maybe Content Installer differentiates between bundled & standalone & needs to contact now defunct Pinnacle server for verification.

It could be that if Winter Pack was released with S10, it would Install into S12 with XP but not Vista/W7, although S12 does.

Don't know, I'm afraid. Never seen that Error Message posted before.

    Hopefully someone-else will drop-by with a fix.

    Good luck Smile

I appreciate the effort.  I agree I think the software is looking for a response from a pinnacle server whose address has changed.  You would think pinnacle would have a patch to change this location in the software.  I think that would be my only hope.  I tried looking for it on the Pinnacle website but I found that site confusing and non intuitive and got no where.

    Best Regards

Pinnacle was acquired from Avid by Corel approx. 2 years-ago. There has been confusion ever-since.

Pinnacle Studio became End Of Line with S15, when Corel acquired Pinnacle. However, Corel continued to develop Avid Studio, which they also acquired from Avid at the same time & decided to re-name it to Pinnacle. Different program with a different User Interface.

"Pinnacle" Technical Support for S12 expired several years-ago, when Pinnacle was owned by Avid. The only current S12 Support is here, on the Forum.

It "might" be that you need to enter an Activation Key before the CD will Install. Hence the "Connect to Server" Message. However, I would have thought there would be one on a sticker on the CD sleeve.
