Re: ADVICE WANTED FOR NEW W7 PC FOR S12
Re- installing the other Studio elements, because I didn't have to do a system restore after all, I do still have S10 installed which is why I thought I'd follow the procedure below: 1. install the S12 Ultimate Plug-in CD 2. install the S10 Bonus Disk on its own 3. then Hollywood FX 4. then use the S12 Install disk 'Transfer Content' to ensure they're recognised by S12. 5. And finally, the S12 Title Extreme/proDad disk I've looked again at Ramon's video and based on having S10 already installed I think that order should work but if anyone has any other suggestions they'll be welcome. Nearly there!

R_Vera:
"S10 Bonus Content won't Install without S10 Installed."
The bonus content can be installed without Studio 10 installed. Just follow the steps on the video I made (9:10 timer) and it should install without a problem.
Thanks, Ramon
IMO, it can only be Installed via S12 Transfer Wizard's Virtual S10 Program Installation.
Mike's Post refers to Installing S10 Content before Running S12 Content Transfer Wizard.
ADDED - Mike & I Posting @ Same time & I wasn't aware that he had S10 Installed.

Re: ADVICE WANTED FOR NEW W7 PC FOR S12
Mike,
You are at the right track and there is no other alternatives available. If you decide to uninstall Studio 10, just remove what is on disc one. DO NOT remove the bonus disc plus whatever other disc was available. I think that you might need to repair Studio 12 after removing Studio 10 but if I was you I would just leave Studio 10 as is. If you don't plan to use Studio 10 you can just delete the icon from your desktop.

Re: ADVICE WANTED FOR NEW W7 PC FOR S12
Nearly there but not quite yet. I haven't been able to install the S10 Bonus disk. In a post a few days ago I was told to install S10 and leave the Bonus content until later. So when I did the install of S10 from the website download and was asked towards the end if I wanted to install the Bonus content I said no. Now that everything seems alright I've just tried to install it from my original S10 CD but was told again that it was incompatible with W7 so I've looked again at the Vista Install download file but can't see anything linked to it that I can install. I obviously don't want to risk running the whole Vista Install file again. In Setup in the download file I can see 'setup 2' which is an Application (118kb), could that be it? Any other suggestions?

See my Post HERE & install via S12 Content Transfer Wizard.
I think Ramon's Video Tut also covers it.

Re: ADVICE WANTED FOR NEW W7 PC FOR S12
Hello Mike,
If you already installed Studio 10 including the bonus disc content and you are trying to install Studio 12, just follow all the instructions given for Studio 12 and at the end just select the transfer content and your computer should transfer automatically all contents from studio 10 to studio 12. No need to re-install the bonus content from studio 10.

Re: ADVICE WANTED FOR NEW W7 PC FOR S12
I must have watched Ramon's video at least 10 times but I obviously missed a bit - I think my brain's getting frazzled! Anyway, I ran the S12 Transfer Contents wizard and it scanned my computer and appeared to add some of the downlaoded elements (probably Hollywood FX), but it then came up with the following message and it won't let me go to the next stage of downloading any disk content as shown in the video.

Re: ADVICE WANTED FOR NEW W7 PC FOR S12
I don't want to kep wasting everyone's time. I probably do need to cure the problem shown in my last post, but regarding the S10 Bonus disk, what is included on that and isn't any of it included in my S12 Ultimate programme? And is it very useful? And If I installed my S15 programme and then ran the S12 Transfer Contents wizard would I be able to use any of that programmes benefits in S12? I'm beginning to think it might be best to forget the S10 Bonus disk altogether.

Re: ADVICE WANTED FOR NEW W7 PC FOR S12
The error you get is because something is wrong with your graphic card. It may not be compatible or may need an upgrade patch. Do you know what type of graphic card you have and how much GB's it has. If the error appears just click on the "ok" button and continue with the transfer content. You should be able to get almost all contents from your previous version of studio.
The Bonus disc is just an optional choice for you to add. If you think you won't be needing them, you can just skip that step and continue with your installation of Studio 12 and Studio 15.
You are not bothering us at all. We are here trying to help you out until we can solve something for your installation problem. Please, be patient and somehow you should solve your problem as soon as possible.
UPDATE: You may also want to check this article too.

Re: ADVICE WANTED FOR NEW W7 PC FOR S12
I don't have a separate graphics card, I use the built in Realtek HD audio. When I specified this PC I wanted to fit a FireWire card and I was told that my proposed card was so big it covered the single slot I needed. I was also told that I wouldn't need one, that the built in audio would be sufficient. I've tried just clicking on the 'OK' button but I'm just taken back to the Transfer Content page where the only option is to Exit Installer. If I try again it just keeps taking me round in circles so I can't get to the page to insert an S10 or 11 disk. After I've exited the Transfer page I get the following message:-

After I've exited the Transfer page I get the following message:-
Your First Screenshot states that "All Content elements from your previous Studio (S10) version have successfully Transferred to S12". See Copy Screenshot.

I think you're confusing Audio with Graphics
Your GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) is embedded within your Intel Haswell CPU. That GPU might be insufficient for Running Magic Bullet Looks, which needs a separate High-end Motherboard PCi-e Slot Video Card. However there have been problems with Magic Bullet Looks since Pinnacle introduced it & there's.no guarantee that it'll function correctly with any Video Card. Magic Bullet Looks Website admits that, in the Small Print. So forget about Installing it from S12 3Rd Party Plugins CD. Likewise proDAD's VitaScene that has similar problems.
The CPU embedded 500 GPU is more than sufficient to Run your particular Video Editing workflow.

Re: ADVICE WANTED FOR NEW W7 PC FOR S12
What a stupid mistake, mixing audio with video. My aim has been to install the S10 Bonus Disk. That is all that's left now (apart from perhaps S15 but that doesn't affect this process). I believe my Hollywood FX disk was transferred using the S12 Transfer Content Wizard before I got the previous warning message about Magic Bullets, but to install the Bonus content I need to get to the next page in that Wizard where you can choose to install a disk from a previous programme. I've now removed Magic Bullet Looks and ProDAD Vitascene (but not ProDAD Heroglyph in case it's useful) via add/remove programmes and no longer get the previous warning message when I choose S12 Transfer Content, so I've just tried again. This time it recognised S10 from the previous download and transferred things from that but afterwards still wouldn't open the install disks page. I've watched Ramon's video yet again (I think I've worn it out) where after transferring software on the PC it then allows you to choose if you want to transfer content from a disk but I can't do that. I've just tried yet again but after opening the wizard and clicking 'next' a bar comes up showing activity and I then just get the message 'all content elements have now been transferred' and the only option is to exit the Wizard. Every time I remove the disk and try again it just goes through the same process. Looking at the Bonus disk contents on the video I see more HFX effects and other items that might be useful (unles I've already got them on S12).

S10, Content is installed into S12, Exit the Wizard.
You don't need to Install S10 Content DVD, since all of the Content has been Transferred..
Now read my Post HERE re; S12 Setup (3rd time Posting that, now )
(but not ProDAD Heroglyph in case it's useful)
.
Most of the Bonus Content isn't a Bonus. You need to pay for it. The installed Version is a Trial, with limited Input & the Export is watermarked. That Version is no longer available for purchase, anyway. Only the new Professional Version - a lot of money. So, Remove it from ADD/REMOVE Programs.
The point of the S12 Content Transfer Wizard is that you transfer previously purchased Premium Content on S10 Bonus Content DVD plus the limited Bonus items. If you didn't purchase any Content, that content will be watermarked in S12.

Re: ADVICE WANTED FOR NEW W7 PC FOR S12
Here you can download the latest patch for Heroglyph, Vitascene and Adorage.
You only need to Install the Bonus DVD content on Studio 10 (which you have already done so). For Studio 12 and 15 just click on the transfer wizard and all contents will be automatically transfered to them. No need to use the Bonus DVD again.

1) Mike hasn't purchased Heroglyph & Adorage that are on S10 Bonus Content DVD. Those Patches are for purchased Versions & won't Install..
2) Vitascene comes with S12 Ultimate Plugins CD.
3) S12 Content Transfer Wizard has already Tranferred S10 Bonus Content,

Colour,
He needs to click on tab where it says "Downloads and Support" and then select "service update"
Updates are Free. I already used them once before when I was installing Studio 10 on Windows 7,

Re: ADVICE WANTED FOR NEW W7 PC FOR S12
I'm not sure if I'm getting totally confused or if everyone else is. To clarify:- 1. I have studied Colour's previous post 2. I do have S10 installed on my PC via the website download but when I did the install I did not install the Bonus Content when it asked because I'd previously been told to leave that until after I'd done everything else. 3. By my understanding therefore no Bonus Content was transferred to S12 when I used the S12 Transfer Content wizard, it just transferred other appropriate content from the basic S10+ programme
4. Therefore I'm still needing the S10+ Bonus Content which has not been installed. I paid for that disk as part of my original version S10+ and unless S12 provides the same content I would like to install it. 5. Therefore, I'm now trying to install this via the S12 Transfer Content using the original disk. Ramon's video shows how it should be done, it's just that I can't get to the appropriate page to do so
6. I did look to see if I could download just the Bonus Content retrospectively from the S10 website download programme but I couldn't see any route to do so. Does that help (or just make matters worse)?

Go HERE / Section 2
For S14, read S12.
Read all of it first & then follow the instructions for Transferring Content from S10 Bonus Content Disk.
Post-back the stage where you can't proceed any further. Then we can look at the FAQ, to see where you're stuck & hopefully offer a solution.

You can double-check what you already have, by Launching S12 Program & Importing the Sample Video; "OurFunVacation" (Should be in your Shared Video Folder). Dragging that to the Timeline. Double-Clicking on it & then follow my Screenshot. Go down the list Selecting each one, to see the Effect. Some are Free. Most will have Pinnacle Unlock Icon, if the Bonus Content has been Transferred..
I have S10 Content Disk Transferred to S12. If you don't see some of the items in my Screenshot, your S10 Bonus Content DVD hasn't been transferred,
You must have Show Premium Content Selected first, as per one of my previous Posts.

Re: ADVICE WANTED FOR NEW W7 PC FOR S12
I've fully read the instructions and they're the same as shown in Ramon's video. I can go through section 1 without any problems but it won't run section 2, i.e. although it doesn't detect any further content to transfer it doesn't go to Section 2 item 3 (SS below). As well as using the wizard from the S12 disk I've taken the other route of 'Start - All Programs - Pinnacle Studio - Tools - Transfer Content' as listed on the notes but it works exactly the same way. Scrrenshot (P.S. I've just received your 2nd post and I'll check that next):-

Re: ADVICE WANTED FOR NEW W7 PC FOR S12
P.S. If I were to run the S10 download Vista Install again would it install a second copy of the whole programme or would it recognise the already installed components and just install the extra items missed before - i.e. the Bonus Content? If so, when I ran Transfer Content Wizard again it would then pick up and transfer the Bonus Content that way from the already installed content.

Re: ADVICE WANTED FOR NEW W7 PC FOR S12
I've now removed Magic Bullet Looks and ProDAD Vitascene (but not ProDAD Heroglyph in case it's useful) via add/remove programmes
Magic Bullet Looks & proDAD Vitascene are on S12 3RD Party Plugins CD. So you must have Installed that,. for them to appear in ADD/REMOVE Programs
proDAD Heroglyoph is on S10 Bonus Content DVD. Therefore you must have Transferred S10 Bonus Content, for it to appear in ADD/REMOVE Programs.
IMO, there's nothing-else to Install.
However, I didn't have S10 Titanium Edition.
P.S. If I were to run the S10 download Vista Install again would it install a second copy of the whole programme or would it recognise the already installed components and just install the extra items missed before - i.e. the Bonus Content?

.
No, to the First & therefore No, to the second.
As previously stated, most of S10 Bonus Content isn;'t a bonus you have to pay foir it by purchasing Activatioin Keys for each item. IMo, that content is probably no longer available, anyway..
