• Please contribute with bugs that can be repeated consistently.
• Please don't post questions, or vague assertions about stability.
• Please don't post anything that could be considered a feature request.
• Let's try to keep this non-confrontational as well.

If we can come up with a rock solid list then maybe the Pinnacle developers will take notice.

If you make a mpeg-2 DVD compatible file from the sample movie (PAL version) the resulting render is full of errors. The same happens if you make a DVD image with the checkbox "always re-encode entire movie" UNCHECKED. Checking the box in the DVD image creation dialogue stops the error. There in no such box in the File section. Studio 16 did not make these errors.

I can also provide a very simple movie package that also demonstrates the issue, so non-PAL users can see the problem:

  1)       Black frames at 1080 50p project / clips and output as H264 file in 1080 50i at the junctions of the output clips:p:p

 12)   Pictures ( jpg) with a very large number of pixels , e.g. 15558 x 10719 (scan a photo with 2400dpi ) will not longer be imported into PS17 library (neither with PS16) and so can not be used on the timeline, but possible with Studio 11 or Studio 15
 13)   mts -file created by Studio lets 17.0.2 crash when importing , PS16 , PS15 and NLEs other manufacturers have no problem with that . (Example file, 88MB)
 14)   Patch 17.0.2 deletes entire database (collections, tagging , etc.). For technical reasons understandable, but there must be a conversion or transfer opportunity / be created. Otherwise the user’s work will be lost!
 15)   Memory problem with Disc projects! Loss of temporary render elements (in render folder) after saving the disc project
 16)   Video formats which can not be imported (I like to add, if someone knows more):
a) Transport Stream (ts) files from DVB-S, both SD (720x576 50i) and HD (1280x720 50p). Import in S16 possible (and as good as any other video editing software that I have tested):p:p
 17)   Missing possibility to modify audio volume for several clips at once. Entire timeline and single clips OK. (feature request)

16) b) Another video format that a 4K capable editor should import is GoPro 3+ black 4K (and 2.7k) files. S17 does not.

19. Red Giant Particular crashes PS17. This known bug has been around since PS16.1. In PS16, it worked fine.

20. Montage themes, retro to PS16. Multilayer Mix Animation>Falling Drops 1, 2, and 3 do not fall, but go up. In AS1, they fell. 

21. Assets in Media folder, 9970. Can not add another asset. Shows Watchfolders being updated in lower right screen, but there are no images or videos listed when accessing the Library.

22. When Exporting video from Timeline and using Montage themes overlayed on each other, keep getting Export Error around the 50second mark when choosing Preprocessing>Automatic. Happened when trying to export Mpeg4, Mpeg2, MTS all at 1080. When choosing Render Completely Before Export, I am able to export video.

 

I updated the German bug listing with the translated items 18 to 22.

I've struck through, but not deleted, those I consider to be feature requests. I'll complied a fresh list later today.

Thank you for all your efforts to vet the issues, and document them in a very usable way.  We will get these entered and begin prioritizing.  

Currently I'm tied up on Export crashes and need to get some bugs posted there; after those are in, I will get onto this list.

23.) After installing patch 17.0.2, MOV files from Casio ZR-100 are not displayed correctly, preview image is green with gray lines. I cannot edit them or export them without crashes.

After installing PS 17 and the patch audio and wavelength showing audio are no longer present for my Sony Camcorder with PCM Audio. No problems with this in Avid Studio or PS16. Footage from other cameras isn't effected. I checked this on two different workstation configurations running PS17 and both exhibit the same issues. Please add this to the fix list.

I hope that this # will continue to be announced. This, we add in the German bug list. Thus the customer (forum members) is displayed - the devs are working on it. Perhaps psychologically  meaningful.
