    Re: Open for business

I just finished paying online and have began to download the product. I can tell you that the download will confuse many. It is not a single download, matter of fact its like 8 downloads. There is also a Studio 14 download, I am not quite sure what that is for yet. I did purchase the smart sound plugin, never did like score fiter, and I have a large smart sound collection from Studio 8 up and from Liquid 6 and 7. Wonder how easy it will be to get all of them going.

    Hi dun4cheap

Yes I have bought it and started to download it, I know what you mean the download it is very confusing I downloaded the small files first to get them out of the way and now I am downloading the big files, I started to download the Training zip and then started to download the Avid Studio Upgrade installer, that is saying part 1 of 2.exe, very confusing. Not sure if I will have it all.

I presume we have to unzip all the zip files then we should be able to burn all files to DVD.

    Hi All,

Okay, I have downloaded Avid Studio, installed all content, ran it and all seems well at the moment,.

I will get back to all when I have had a play with it.

Hope everyone who has bought it has success, and great editing.

    Yep all working OKay.

It seems to be very CPU intensive though.

    Cool

That's what you want isn't it? Otherwise you would be saying it wasn't fast enough.

Agreed. Doing a quick comparison between S15 and AS cpu usage, AS gets as high as 98% on all four cores, while S15 might top out at maybe 60% or so rendering the same project.

One time it will seem CPU intensive is when you first run it after the installation - if you allow the watch folder to remain as the default and have lots of stuff in those folders.

So true. I had thought the program froze up when I first started it. Then I saw the Watch Folder. Egads! I did not know I had that much stuff on my hard drive!

    I jjn,

Exactly, I did change the watch folder to one on my desktop and hay presto it is now faster.

I think at some stage I will install windows 7 64bit to see the difference it makes.
