Welcome to the Avid Liquid and Avid Liquid Pro Forum

Welcome, Pinnacle Liquid 5 or 6 customers, and Avid Liquid 7 customers. I hope you find this user forum and our knowledgebase  helpful. We at Pinnacle want to ensure you are happy using our products and get the service you need.

While this is a community forum of users helping users, many of our Pinnacle customer service representatives are here, as well as moderators that are here to help and who have regular contact with Pinnacle if an issue needs to be escalated.

If you were previously registered on the Avid Forum, you will have to register again to access to the Pinnacle forums. We are sorry for this, but it was not possible to import the Avid user database.

Re: Welcome to the Avid Liquid and Avid Liquid Pro Forum

Hello, Bertrand.  I ran across this forum as I was browsing the new Liquid support area and figured I'd post something while I was here.  It looks like the login info for the old Pinnacle forum works here in case anyone coming in already has a Pinnacle forum registration.

Re: Welcome to the Avid Liquid and Avid Liquid Pro Forum

    Hi Scott,

You are totally right, we imported the logins from our old Pinnacle forum. So users who were already registered on the old Pinnacle forums can use their previous login (the only exception is for users who created severeal logins using the same email address on th old forum. Only one account was imported on the new forum, as we do not allow anymore accounts with the same email address).

But users who only registered to the Avid forum will have to register again (sorry for this inconvenience) on the Pinnacle forum.

Re: Welcome to the Avid Liquid and Avid Liquid Pro Forum

Hi guys. Another Liquid forum - Scott posted a link to the knowledge base which I followed and found my way here (one hyperlink at a time). Will this forum eventually replace the Avid Liquid forum?

BTW - it's nice to see company involvement in the forum - thanks Bertrand!

Re: Welcome to the Avid Liquid and Avid Liquid Pro Forum

    Salexander,

Welcome to the Liquid forum. This forum will effectively replace the Avid Liquid forum, as Liquid is back to the Pinnacle world.

I hope we will be as successful as Avid was building a good forum (even if most of the activity is done by users....). Let us know also what are your expectations and let's start discussions.

Other moderators (more technical than myself...) will also join when necessary.

Re: Welcome to the Avid Liquid and Avid Liquid Pro Forum

Will the format of the new forum be the same as the old one with various general areas to channel the discussions, or are we going to follow the format that we used on the Avid Boards?

Re: Welcome to the Avid Liquid and Avid Liquid Pro Forum

How will moderation be handled on this forum? Will the moderators be Pinnacle Employess (which I and others would prefer).  There seems to be a better spirit on the Pinnacle boards and I would hope they will be maintained similar to way the other Pinnacle forums are as opposed to the way it was done on Avid.

Well, I remembered my user name (my name!) but had to get a new password.

Having a host close to the "source" is encouraging.

Re: Welcome to the Avid Liquid and Avid Liquid Pro Forum

My Favourites got to be a tad messy, so I've tidied it up so all the Pinnacle/Avid links go where I think they're going.

No link from the "English Forums" page?

    Denny,

At the beginning, the site is designed in the same way than the Avid forum, to kep things easy. Then, I'm open to any suggestion. For instance if you would like to get a separate area for general discussions, that could be an option. Or if you prefer to split the forums with various sub-forums (as capture, Edit etc.). If the volume is effectively ramping (thanks to all of you), then it will be time to split the volume. It makes life easier for moderation to have everything in one forum. But for users, it is better to search on separate topics.

That's not easy to compare the Studio or TV forums and Liquid forum. Of course Liquid is a professional software, used by professionals and used mostly in professional environments.

Our target, on the other Pinnacle forums is to show our presence (never enough, but most of the threads are open and, if necessary, answered). But a community is first based on users, and not on moderators.

So my view for the Liquid forum is to have a mix between external moderators or power users (same as with Avid - and Avid moderators who would like to join us are very welcome - just send me a private message). But I also want to bring a Pinnacle presence, either from our tech support team (and trying to have resources available to cover US and EU shifts) and from some developers. The first time might be a little bit "shaky", just to get everything in place. But it is also very good to start on something fresh and I'm sure that your suggestions will be very helpful...

Don't hesitate to send me a private message if you have questions or suggestions, I'm always trying answering in the same day (I'm mostly based in Europe, so sorry for the time difference for our US friends...). Just to introduce myself, I'm in charge of the WW consumer support, so any input is valuable. If I can not answer you directly, I will alway try to chase who can give you an answer.

    Bertrand:

It would be nice to see a longer first page... can't fit too many new threads with the existing system.... any chance of that happening?

    EDIT:

Never mind... I'm wrong...It appears that there are simply not enough new threads yet to extend the page

Re: Welcome to the Avid Liquid and Avid Liquid Pro Forum

    Blackbill,

The forum is actually setup to display 30 therads per page, which is quite good, especially if we add sub-forums later on.
