I don't have S14. However I think there's a Plugin for making Cartoons. Not for making your Videos look like Cartoons. However there's a Free Prog "Cartooner", that does. I have it. Google:"Cartooner", for the Free Download.

    colour and siobhan3,

The cartoon plug-in is actually called "Cartoonr" and is available from NewBluFX.  If you go to the this link, you will find a list of their plug-ins (for purchase, not for free) and in the right margin of this page is the download link for the free "Cartoonr":

Siobhan3, Colour and Igor:  Studio 14 Ultimate does have a video-into-cartoon creation tool.  It's called ToonIt and you can see a tutorial here.Movie

    Re: Pinnacle 14

    Re: Pinnacle 14

Sorry another rather stupid question ( don't mind me you all know my age don't you!)  This 14 is HD so do I have to have HD computer TV camera.  Sorry put up with me and one day you will see my name in lights!!!!

    Re: Pinnacle 14

    "HD" also does standard-def.

(You'll probably want the "Ultimate Collection" if you want Toonit. )

    Re: Pinnacle 14

Don't worry, there are no stupid questions around here - only a few foolish answers.   Big Smile

No, you don't have to have any HD equipment to use S14.   However, if and when you can convince hubby to buy you a new camera or TV, you will be ready for it with your video editing software.  Cool

(And there was no S13.  Software marketers are superstitious folk.  Confused)

And yes, you can upgrade from S12 to S14.  Yes

    Re: Pinnacle 14

"With Studio 12.1, you can import the HDV in native format and then create a Blu-ray disc using the BD-MPEG format option, with minimal quality loss."

Is Studio 14 HD able to create a Blu-ray disc using the BD-MPEG format option, with minimal quality loss from HV-20?

Is it the only practical difference between Studio 14 HD and Studio 14 Ultimate that the latter is able "Blu-ray authoring with motion menus"?

I thank you all - all questions beautifully answered - very happy bunny now - still have to convince hubby!!

    Re: Pinnacle 14

Bittman, Toonit also comes with Studio 14 "Ultimate" (like it does with "Ultimate Collection", as you pointed out)

    Re: Pinnacle 14

OK...cool.  This page makes it sound like the Ultimate Collection is the only version that includes Toonit "out of the box".  That page is "misleading" then?

    Re: Pinnacle 14

Well, yea looking at that page I think it may be a bit misleading...

I haven't installed Studio 14 Ultimate yet, but I do have the box here (unopened) and on the front it says Toonit is included.

This page also says Toonit is included in Ultimate:

Here is a comparison chart of what each S14 version can do:  http://www.pinnaclesys.com/images/redesign/comparison/Studio.html

    Re: Pinnacle 14

The comparison chart is also misleading because it doesn't indicate that 2 of the 6 new plug-ins, Toonit and Knoll Light Factory, are available in Ultimate.

    Greg,

As usual, Pinnacle are behind the times, now even with their own product information.  Good catch, I didn't notice it, probably because I am not seriously considering upgrading to S14 yet.

Well I have just found a comic plug in in 12 that looks the same as 14 - OK so I should have gone into 12 more thoroughly before thinking of upgrading.  This plug in does exactly what I wanted!!!!!!

Suggestion:  Keep S14 on your computer, but also keep using S12 until one or more patches for S14 correct the various problems.  Then simply update your S14 installation and you will be good to go.
