I have been unable to install Studio 14 HD Ultimate Collection on my Windows 7 x64 machine.   After the serial number screen, I get error "Error 1324: The Path 01 ?Soft Shadow Looks.ixLook contains an invalid character".    

I can see that the ? might be a problem, but don't know where it came from and how to get past it.  Does anyone know?

If you have a previous version of Studio, use that serial number.

Is your OS using special characters in unicode?

 I tried the same serial as my 12.1, but it wouldn't take it - says invalid serial number.

I do have Chinese Simplified installed and set as my default language for non-unicode programs. I will change that to English and try again.

Well, changing my default language for non-unicode programs to English solved the problem.  Thanks.  I hope I can change it back to Chinese after installing Studio 14.

I need to remember that. There was another case reported about the same error and a regedit procedure was needed. Thanks for the information.
