I've been doing one of my first HDV projects.  Shot on an FX-7 in HDV 1080i and imported into a project.  I'm running LE 6.1 sp2.  The problem that I can't figure out is that I need to put a crawl on the the bottom of the screen that lists the name of a dance, choreographer and dancers, from a dance recital.  Everytime I have tried the crawl has interlace lines or tearing in the graphic on the final SD DVD.  I have tried different fonts, color styles and have also tried to do a frame vs. field render with the same results.  As the subject states I'm using the TitleDeko RT.  I have always done it this way in my SD projects and since this is my first HD project I assumed that it would work.  Does the crawl option not work in HD?  Is there something that I am missiing?  Since it's very easy editing, I decided to capture HD instead of SD because I would expect the final DVD to look a little better that way.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

In the Roll editor of your crawl text, go in the Options tab / Render Options / Choose "Render Frames" instead of Render Fields.

 

I tried changing it to frame and it's still tearing, just not as bad.  I just would like to figure out why it's not as clean as it should be.

Is it a slow crawl or a fast crawl? Try to change the speed by changing the length of the clip.

Also, you can try to do the same thing with a 2D CPU instead of the roll effect or by applying a small blur effect on the title (as someone else mentioned!).

 

It's about a 15 sec crawl with a single small sentence.  dance, choreographer and in the test case 1 dancer  I tried making something in Photoshop and using the 2d crawl but I could get it to work properly.  I think I will try to blur it a little next.

You can also try if making the clip twice as long or smaller gives you the same result.
