I'm having problems capturing from my VCR

My operating sys. is XP 32 bit.. i have an IBM.

I have a PCTV HD 800i card while trying to capture form my vcr using pinnacle studio 10.5 I get an error message saying "A valid siganl could not be detected please check your cables" I checked all my cable and everything seems to be working fine. I can see the image and I can here the audio through the preview window but when i click on start capture it records for like 5 seconds and then it stops. It does continue capturing but with no image. Furthermore, when i go under capture source and change the anolog to soundmax it records without stopping but with no audio. How do I correct this problem? I also went to device manger and under "sound, video, and game controler" option there are no drivers installed for the pinnacle 800i. Is this Normal? I tried to reinstall but nothing happened. Help me please.

Re: I'm having problems capturing from my VCR

This should be posted in the PCTV section.

Capturing from a PCTV device should only be done in TV Center pro, PCTV devices may not work properly with Studio.

Moving from Studio General to TVCenter General section.

Correct. How about capturing via TV Center Pro?
