Hi, I have recorded few videos via my PCTV Stereo TV Tuner Card using PCTV Vision software.

The capture settings were
MPEG-1 (352x240) @ 1.15 Mbit/s

For a 3 mins 50 secs long video the size is 110 MBytes.

I'd like to compress them to smaller sizes keeping the video quality nearly the same. So I need some easy & FREE software (along with the best settings) which can do that for me. I'd prefer (not a necessity) a software which also allows me to cut several clips from the same video and join them together  (and compress them too) to produce a smaller file.

 Please post back if you have any suggestions or need any more information.

I was hoping to find a good authoring program like that to replace DVD Flick.  Video Spin looks like it'll fit the bill nicely.  And the price is right.  :)
