    Re: Quicktime HD

What type of codec is it?  ProresHD, DVCPROHD?  These codecs will not work anywhere outside of a FCP system.  Even a Apple computer without FCP will not be able to work with them.  Prores is a nice codec but you have to have FCP to use it.  There is no way ever a PC system will ever be able to use those codecs.  A lot of Apple people make this mistake all the time because they think Apple is everywhere so they forget that they may be using a codec other people will not be able to use.

If you can have them use photojpeg or some other universal quicktime codec.

Avid does have a free DVCPROHD quicktime codec but I'm not sure if it will work with Apple DVCPROHD files or not.  It is a very slow codec so I have only used it once for an animation project I was on with another team.

    Hi

it seems to be  some kind of ProresHD, DVCPROHD codec they import the .mxf file from P2 cards and give me than these files transcoded however they are FCP user so they don´t know really what is happening there!

So what do you think is the best way to render out an quicktime hd file from liquid which everbody can wor with!

    thanks in advance

    Re: Quicktime HD

If they came from P2 then they should be DVCPROHD.  You could try the free Avid codecs and see if they work for you.  I don't have any current Apple footage on any of my systems right now to try it out.  There is a small chance they could have converted to Prores422 but I doubt it.  Usually DVCPROHD users stay in DVCPROHD.

    Re: Quicktime HD

The file has been DVC Pro HD files from P2 card in the beginning!

The problem is now that FCP if you import the files then it converts the files to an quicktime mov file which has the dvcpro hd codec which you can only read on FCP Studio2 Sytems!

So without mac no access to these files! damn

    keep you updated
