Some HFX transitions looks like partially deformed in Ultimate 12.

    Dear friends:
I discovered Studio plus 11 three months ago.
Since then, I am a big fan of it because the program works perfectly.

My mother gave away me Ultimate 12 this week and all is ok... Except for...
Some HFX transitions (Not all of them. Maybe 8 and just HFX) looks like partially deformed in preview mode... Just in preview mode.

I never had this problem with Studio Plus 11.
    ¿Could you please help me?

My PC: Core 2 duo, 2.5 GHZ, RAM: 3 gigas. My graphic card: ASUS X1650 Series (256 MB)

    Greetings from México.

    Thank you in advance.

I noticed a few that didn't preview or render properly (i.e. elements missing).

Sit tight for a HFX guru with the answers you seek.

I too have run some transitions that don't seem to have all the elements working. The picon shows what the transitions should look like. But when rendered, pieces of it are missing.

I wonder if this is a video card/driver issue.

I had the same problem in S11 but with some motion menus.

Sorry, I thought someone would offer some help by now. Perhaps the holiday and summer in general have people away from their computers.

As far back as Studio 9 there were problems with some HFX transitions. The Baseball transition in particular was missing it's red stitching in some people's installations. I don't recall there was ever a solution for individual aberrations such as this but the baseball transition (for example) was fixed in Studio 11 I believe (at least on my machine).

Maybe just coincidental but the color red seems to be missing in the defective transitions I've noticed.

Re: Some HFX transitions looks like partially deformed in Ultimate 12.

You said "just in preview mode" -- is this a preview issue, or do your transitions render incorrectly as well?

There have been several problems in the past related to HFX -- one was, if you were using OpenGL rendering in the HFX editor, some transitions would be distorted (too tall/cut off).  The workaround was to NOT use OpenGL rendering in the HFX editor.

It seems that there may be some problems with some "purchased" HFX effects, too -- problems with the background images being missing or "distorted" on some machines.

I think that in order to determine what's going on, there needs to be more information shared.  WHAT effects are having problems?  Do these problems occur only in preview, or do they occur in rendering as well?  Can other users reproduce the issue on their machine, etc.

Otherwise, it's going to be a bit difficult to get to any sort of resolution, as it isn't exactly clear as to what precisely is going wrong.

As bittmann suggested, it would be very helpful to know which effects are causing problems. Be specific as to the group, number, and name of the effects. There may be a common element in all of them that would point to the cause.

I don't have S12 but I can look at the effects and see what I can do.

In FX66- Tropical Islands, all the transitions have problems with missing images. There will be something displayed, but not what the picon is showing the image should be. The image will be a distorted rainbow look.  This isn't the only location where there exists problems that I did not have before.

I ran S11 and they are messed up there too along with S10.x (Vacation Fun/Camping for example).

All the activation codes are entered and displayed.

Since I have S11 I was able to check #66 Tropical Vacation. All the effects worked fine for me. I have the ATi X1650 card with 512 RAM. I googled your video card and it appears to be okay for S11 but in general, issues such as yours are usually related to the video card.

Since this thread is from someone who has problems with S12 that weren't there in S11, you might want to start a new thread about your situation. Also, check Declic Video. There may be some help available there. The link is in my sig.

Thanks loosecannon for your reply. The first thing I thought of was the video drivers, so I updated them. The card is not overclocked. I will check the site to see if there are any answers there. It's a great site with a lot of info for Studio.

I really don't use those type of effects in the videos I do.  But, they should work.

Re: Some HFX transitions looks like partially deformed in Ultimate 12.

You can solve this problem download the file "Utility for CorrigeHfxTgaMpeg.exe Studio" from site named PIXEL63 this is:

    http://66.163.168.225/babelfish/translate_url_content?.intl=e1&lp=fr_en&trurl=http%3a%2f%2fwww.pixel63.fr%2f

I had the same problem but now everything it is ok. This utility reemplacement the plugins of HFX 6, wich are bad or wrong, nad not give funcionality to TGA files and Mpeg video files of HFX6

Re: Some HFX transitions looks like partially deformed in Ultimate 12.

I had a similar problem (HFX blacked out or deformed) in two different PCs when Studio 9, 11 and 12 installed.

I removed Studio 11 and 12 from one PC and then re-installed only Studio 12  plus the bonus from Studio 11(I left Studio 9 installed), everything worked OK. I find out that Studio 12 rendering during Editing and during Making a Movie is really fast compared to Studio 11.

I Did the same thing in my other PC and also the problems with HFX were resolved. I do not need Studio 11 if Studio 12 have the same options and more plus faster rendering. (I still left installed Studio 9 that I prefer to use for capturing standard DV).
