    Tel,

    WELCOME to the forum.  Smile

Do you know how to add a regular title?  When you are in the title editor, there are a couple little icons in the top-left corner, and you can set it for static text (the default), rolling text (bottom to top), and scrolling text (right to left).

One tip about the rolling text - It starts "below" the screen, but ends when the last of the text appears, so if you want your text to roll all the way to the top of the screen, you'll have to add a bunch of blank lines at the end.

Once you've added your text, you change the "speed" of the roll/scroll by changing the duration of the title.

Good luck, have fun, and please write back with more questions as needed.

Re: Rolling text at end of slide show

    Hi again

I found all those buttons that you mentioned in your reply but it did not lead me to away of using normal text or have i just lost the plot today, i do not have a need for all of the fancy fonts with 3D effects etc i tried asking for Ariel text thinking i had got it but when i started to type it just came up with this fancy text that half the people who will be viewing my slide show wont be able to read ( they are quite  a bit older than me  (above 59)

    regards

"Hi again" to you too.  Smile

You have to be so close.

Are you starting with an existing title that comes with Studio, or are you using a blank one?  (Probably doesn't really matter.)

After you have your text typed in, and you don't like the font, you can either "drag" of the text to select it, or you can click on the "frame" around the text, and THEN try changing the font.

I think I'll fire up Studio and see what vital step I'm missing...

    ADDED...

After you've selected the "frame", you can click on one of the "styles" (the A's)  in the right column.  Pick a simple-looking one.  Then you can click on the "Custom" tab and turn off stuff like edges and shadows, and you can change the face color.

Tip - At the bottom of the title editing screen, click on the "T" (to add text), then click in the window and start typing.  So you can add multiple blocks of text to your title.

Re: Rolling text at end of slide show

    Thanks for that

I am  sure i must be close to getting it right, I used a blank page, what i am doing is making a list of wild life seen during a trip to Svalbard, then a list of all places visited with dates lattitude / longtitude we were as close as 650 miles from the north pole during a trip into the pack ice.

send me your email address will drop a few pictures for you to look at

    Cheers

    Terry

just to be sure, are you "highlighting" the unwanted text before you try to change the font. I find that if I don't highlight it first, then my font changes are not applied to the new title...

I know this sounds simple...but it could be the step you are missing...

1] step one open title editing screen by clicking on title that is on the time line

2] highlight existing text with unwanted font

3] select new font from drop down list

4] change font size as need be

hope you figure it out...you are very close..

    Terry,

Look for a PM (Private Message).

In the top-right corner of the forum page, where you login and logout, there is an "Inbox" link.  If you have any messages, it will list the number in parenthases.  I wish it was more obvious (I don't get many, but I try to train my eyes to glance up there once in a while).

You can initiate one by clicking on the "Contact" button in a person's post.
