We have an LCD tv that has no video out connector.  Is it possible to connect Dazzle to TV and, if so, how?

Welcome to the forums gnat.

If you are planning to capture what is on your TV, you should have a video out ports on the TV. Otherwise, you do not have a signal to capture from.

If you are planning to preview your project to the TV, your Dazzle should have video out ports also. Not all Dazzle models have this.

 

Thanks for the response.  Is there any kind of adaptor or anything?  Bought this for my son with the idea that he could capture off TV (HE thought this would do it) but the only TV we have with a video out is large plasma.  I didn't intend for him to take over the family TV.

As you know, the ports on the TV act this way:

Video Out: Gives out the signal. This is what you can capture. The signal maybe the TV signal or from another source like a VCR

Video In:  Takes signal from other sources like camcorders and VHS/DVD players. Connecting the Dazzle on this port would not give you anything to capture.

If the other TV does not have video out ports, how about replacing the Dazzle with a TV Tuner kit? Our software can also capture the TV it displays.
