I have a 50 minute(~8 Gig) edited home movie with menu/transistions/wav files/titles, the usual stuff.   I'm using Studio Plus 9.4. The problem is during  the Make Movie process the rendering freezes on it's 2ND pass ONLY??!! It renders fine thru the 1st time thru the whole movie but gets stuck 1/2 thru the 2nd  time. (Why does it render twice??) It kept freezing at a cetain scene so I deleted that scene and re-rendered, but it would still hang 1/2 way thru the process. Here are the trouble-shooting tips I tried(with no luck though): disabled internet connection, disabled ALL running background programs, deleted my aux. files, un-plugged my ext. HD., copied to a new timeline, changed CBR to VBR, tried making an .AVI.

 

      I thought maybe the scene(it kept hanging on) was corupted, so I tried rendering from that scene to the end of the movie(~2G worth) ...it rendered  and burned disc fine!

 

    I've burned lots of fully edited movies before and never had a rendering issue til now. 

 

  What else could I try?? Any suggestions??  Thanks!!

 PC Specs:  Dell Dimension 8400 (Pentium 4 560 3.6GHz, 512MB RAM, 160GB HDD, XP Windows)

Well, I finally was able to render and burn my movie. What I did was I took the 1st 20 min. and c/p into a new project to render....it did w/ no freezes. Then I made a new project with the remaining footage(30 min.) and it DID freeze up. So I split THAT project in half(2nd half...~10 min.) and it rendered fine! Then I had the 1st half rendered and it froze! So basically I was(pains takingly) trying to narrow down any scenes that froze up when rendered....I found 3 scenes that did and deleted them out of the original project and VOILA!...it rendered and burned....WHEW??!!!  Hope this helps someone else out there re: "render hanging".  God, I hope that doesn't happen again?!
