    Disk Menus

    I'm using Studio 11 Ultimate.

I'm using disk menus for the first time, so most likely I'm not doing what you are supposed to, I have read manual over and over and obviously missing something.

I'm using a standard menu with 4 chapters, I have no trouble identifying where chapters should start, it is where they finish I'm strugling. I have resorted to using the second screen of the menu with dummy chapters, so as to have it create the return to menu before each chapter. The only problem with this is the first chapter I want to play the full video.

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Re: Disk Menus

    Hi John

I am using Studio 11 and I think the problem might be that if you set a return to menu mark on the timeline it will ALWAYS return to the parent menu.

When I want to make a menu that allows choice of whole movie or chapters I usually make a seperate menu with two buttons...the first is for the start of the movie...the second for chapters (via a sub menu)

Next create a matching full screen title of just 1 second or so followed by another menu for the chapters

The first button on the first menu will link to the start of the movie the second button on the first menu will link to the 1 second title (and therefore run on to the second menu).

Now this is all well and good....but each chapter will still return to menu 2 if you set the return markers.

    HOW ABOUT?

If the movie is quite short an alternative might be to copy and paste the whole thing so you have 2 complete movies.

On the first you could set NO returns so the whole thing plays returning to menu 1 at the end....then on the sub menu (as above) you could set the returns for each chapter.....it would be lengthy but a good fix for a short production of up to 30 mins or so.

    Hope that helps

     Nigel
