    m2t support

How about having m2t support in Studio 12?

There are a number of AVCHD-busting conversion programs on or coming to the market soon that convert AVCHD to more readily editable .m2t. It would be nice to have this option available.

    AW: m2t support

Do you mean editable by Studio? And what should the .m2t contain? The original H264 video or a conversion to MPEG2?

    Re: AW: m2t support

    Yes,

Thanks for asking. VASST/New Blue has just come out with AVCHD Upshift. It is a batch converter for AVCHD to .m2t. I believe the video is converted to mpeg2. When I try to bring these files into Studio, it gives me a single frame in the Studio timeline (and of course) m2t are not currently listed as supported. I would like the ability to edit .m2t (and import AC3). This would solve 2 problems - cpu performance with AVCHD editing and allow for DD5.1 importing (hopefully S12 will also be able to export true DD5.1 too). Searchign this forum will also show that there are users with HDV camcorders that would also like this functionality.

Thanks again for asking. Your interest is very much appreciated.

This would only be a bandaid,  but try renaming your files from .m2t (Sony's standard) to .tod (JVC's standard).

It would be nice if Pinnacle documented what file extensions are supported. It's been trial and error with me so far.

    Re: m2t support

Looks like the Studio 12.1 update fixes the issue of .m2t not beieng recognized. It also seems to have fixed the problem with AVCHD clips causing S12 to choke.

    Re: m2t support

Correct! Studio supports m2t files from version 12.1 onwards.
